Standard warning to be careful when ordering batteries off amazon...even directly from amazon vs third party.

Counterfeits abundant unfortunately. After my second time of getting burned, i stick with B&M shops for batteries (IE: costco).

The Duracell brand has bitterant coatings. It can be removed using alcohol to rub it off.

"CR2032 batteries with bitterant coatings might not work with AirTag or other battery-powered products, depending on the alignment of the coating in relation to the battery contacts."

Lowest price I've seen.

I had problems with bitter coated duracell for airtag. The coating formed a ring around where airtag pole would touch so it wouldn't boot. Cleaning the coating with paper towel fixed the problem. If you have small kids, buy the coated one and clean before use.

I can relate to this. I bought a pack of Duracell bitter coated batteries from Costco and almost all of them didn't work. I was going to throw them away but will wipe them with a paper towel now, thanks!

UPDATE: Just watched a video of a guy demonstrating using nail polish remover to remove the coating and it worked.

I as well have been burned 2x time and just pay full price from b&m. It's better than constantly having issues with the keyfob and crap
