Probably cause the 15s are garbage compared to the 14s... At least that's my experience with the Guide. Way less padding/comfort with the 15s like they cheaped out or something...

Generally speaking, they'd be $140 for current model (Ride / Guide 16) and then get discounted when the next model releases. These will soon be 2 models behind when the 17s drop (I don't know exact timing).

As for the quality, they are better than the Nike's I've bought for around $100-130, so MSRP I'd say is accurate compared to the competition. At this price, you really can't go wrong imo.

With that said, the Endorphin Speeds MSRP around $170 and getting those in this price range would be almost unheard of (Ex: the Pro's that DSW had for $40 yesterday were gone in about an hour). I bought some Speeds for $90 and felt that was a great value for the shoe. The speed is probably my favorite running shoe I've run in thus far, as it's versatile enough to do speed/interval work and still do some lighter runs too.

I do have several pair of Rides and use those for some casual runs (always grab the endorphins for intervals) and also as my everyday shoe and prefer them over a comparable shoe from the big guys. Hope that helps.

Interesting, I wear 12 wides in all my shoes, including these guide 15s, 14's, and Asics Gel Kayanos.

The last deal was basically the same price. I got two pair for $35 each.
I am currently using Triumph 18 - 13W which are very comfortable. I don't know why but the Guides ran a lot smaller with less cushioning.

Can anyone comment if any of those men's shoes are good work walking. I don't run due to hip issues. TIA.

I liked the kinara from the last DSW deal. Ride and Guide are good but didn't feel like soft cushioning and the soles were hardly compressing under my feet.

How are the Freedoms? See these better than the Ride or Guide?

Ride 15 are a very cheaply made shoe. This is a perma deal. returning the pair I bought bc the foam sole density noticeably sinks just walking in them.. and there is a line in the bottom of the sole that causes your heel to fill like it rolls.. there are only small bits of rubber tread and once one of those falls off or wears through, the entire shoe is gone.

make sure you have a DSW nearby or it's $8.50 per pair to mail back.

Would any of these be a good choice as a general 'gym' shoe? They seem to have a big 'drop' between the heel and toe sections.

I'm primarily looking for something to wear for lifting but also for some light elliptical work and walking on the treadmill.

With a high schooler who runs cross country and long distance track, I appreciate good running shoes deals. He goes though 2-3 runnings shoes per year. With tight budget, we can't afford $100+ per shoes.

Also, you can donate gently used shoes to your local DSW. You earn 50 points for donating used shoes and you can donate once every week (starting Sunday). You need to be VIP member which is free to join.

I adore the 15, my favorite stability shoe (I have Tempus, Adrenaline, and Launch currently), but haven't ran in any other Guide. You have me intrigued to try out other versions.

The cheapest mixing of two pairs from the list is $92 before tax. Not sure where the $70 is coming from.

Are these really 300 dollars original?
Probably at launch on MSRP. But sneakers are like Android phones, you wait 9 months and you buy them for $0.50 on the dollar etc ...
