Apparently there is no difference except for an aesthetic change to the plastic top-cap design which was made for Costco. It looks like the 5300 is Costco exclusive with this aesthetic change, hence the model # difference, but otherwise there is no practical difference as far as I can find.

There is also a separate 'Pro' version of the 5400 model that includes a 2.5 Gbps lan port and is the same in all other respects.

At least get your information correct so you dont look like a paranoid clown. The information was sent to their security company Avira, a GERMAN OWNED COMPANY. Same thing Netgear and Asus does with Avast/TrendMicro and all the other companies that use a third party to filter traffic with real time protection....

TP-Link since then has moved all newer products to Norton with only legacy devices still using Avira till their service period is up.

2.4 works perfectly on Deco and my 2.4 cameras and devices have no issues, and I have a lot of devices.

Also, newer firmware fixed the 2.4 and 5 network thing, you setup a guest network or the IoT network to be only 2.4 now if you prefer, or you can by device in the app force any device to 2.4 only if you want also. So no issues at all now in 2.4 land. Fantastic support after the recent firmware changes in fact.

Any difference between this and the axe5400? From what I can tell it just looks like this has three while the 5400 only has two.

Looking to replace my M9 plus setup.

Literally just bought this 4 days ago for $220 cause my old orbi died after 6-7 years. Are they able to price match it or would I have to buy and then return?

Anyone with this model experience issues with upload speeds? Some reviews say that upload speeds are cut in half? Seems to be hit or miss, looking to upgrade an old Eero 5 dual band system (hardwired).

I bought this the last time and returned.

Pros:
Amazing speed on 5GHz.
Easy setup.
Separate out of the box IoT network.

Cons:
2.4Ghz speed was not good enough as my IP cameras kept disconnecting.
Also, no way to separate out the 2.4ghz and 5ghz which is probably expected from mesh.

Can this replace the primary router also or does it have to extend from a router? I have a TP-Link AX1800. Also that router is dual band so would I lose tri-band capability on these if I kept it in place?

Crap. What brand IP cameras do you have? Just ordered this and have a lot of 2.4Ghz cameras.

It can replace your existing router. Each of these units can function as a router or a repeater (depending on what it's plugged into) - so if you connect the cable going to your current router into one of these, that unit will become the router and the others will become satellites of the first unit.

The other two units can be connected to the primary unit using ethernet cable or wirelessly.

Does anyone think it's worth replacing the M9 plus with these? Just not sure from what I'm seeing in specs there's anything that will give better coverage.

I have the 5300 from costco and i can confirm the issue with 2.4GHz for some smart devices and/or older devices that rely on that band; Unfortunately, we can't go into the system (at least that I know of) to adjust this frequency; I'm assuming these mesh system swap between 20 and 40 for the 2.4 band and some older devices are more comfortable with 20 mhz only.
