Came here to say the game is great now. It still has a bunch of Battlefield type issues and quirks, but it's 80% patched up and really good. It is basically around launch level condition as of the patch in June 2023.

I paid $20 for BF2042 and it is worth every penny. Its been out for almost 2 years now so nobody should be paying $60 for it anyway. COD sells their games for 50% off within 6 months of release.

It was on sale from Epic for $12 in June so my friend bought it and loves it.ITS NOT PERFECT but at that price it just has to be fun.....and its plenty fun.

This battlefield sucks and is boring. Battlebit remastered which is a pixel version of battlefield did it right. They did what battlefield should have been. Once you play it, you'll get passed the graphics. It's so fun and the hit box detection is better than both battlefield and call of duty.

It's worse and often has fewer players than BFV or even BF1 according to tracking data, despite them both being years older.
BFV still holds up and most of the time has a good number of servers going

Looking around... PC key at 3rd party market places are about $20. So-so drive, better than entry level PCIe 4.0 drive with QLC for sure.

I mean it's $17.99 on steam.

I was debating picking up the game on sale, $17.99 is a warm price, but I don't really want to wait for better. That makes this 1TB drive effectively $32. I'll take it.

Speaking of hit detection, in BF2042, smoke clouds disable proper collision detection for explosions-- so you can blow enemies up through building walls etc if you smoke first.
