Definitely a good deal. The only issue is that now it's almost two full generations behind. It will still work fine, and it will still get updates for years, but it does feel a little close to the Series 9 release (much closer than when the spring deals popped up). One would think there would be some Series 8 discounts coming soon. I'm still surprised how many Series 7 watches Walmart continues to have in stock.

I think so. The above poster is correct that the S9 will be out soon (September?), but of course no one has any idea what features it will offer. Plus it will likely be at the $750+ MSRP for the stainless models.

The S8, for the majority of people, offers no major benefits over the S7. I believe it added "cycle tracking" (for those who need it) and crash detection. Otherwise I can't recall any improvements over the S7 - though I'm sure someone will chime in if I'm missing anything major.

I keep telling myself i don't need an upgrade. I have a Nike SE and all i use it for is calls, text, and workouts. i just might upgrade just for the full qwerty keyboard and ecg. this seems like a good upgrade, price-wise.

May not be a good deal for everyone but if anyone is interested

I have a old Apple Watch S3 which I want to trade in and t-mobile is giving $100 trade in credit for the Apple Watch S8 (getting black and not stainless steel as this post has) 41mm GPS + Cellular is coming down to $400.08 with 24 months credit period.

I know lock in and everything but been with Tmo for more than 10 yrs and I am not going anywhere.

Saves me from having a relic at home and get some worth out of it

Honestly that's still a good price if you want/need the Milanese Loop. I think that thing is typically around $75-$100. Plus you've had it for 5 months while the rest of us have been waiting on a deal Smilie
