Sorry if this is a dumb question, but what's the difference between this one and the green one that was just on here?

The green one was of Aluminum, but this is of Stainless Steel metal.

Graphite steel dial vs aluminum for the green one. That's why the price difference

Do you think the stainless is worth the extra $200? Just curious as I've never had an Apple Watch before.

I went with the regular stainless and Milanese loop combo that's the same price right now but this is still a good deal. I was on the fence color wise but the Milanese loop version was a moderately better deal considering the actual cost of the band when purchased separately.

Definitely worth it when you consider that it is premium material over the aluminum and has a better screen.

Yes if you work with your hands and/or like outdoor activities. It is WAY more durable.

The stainless steel models have sapphire crystal screens are are much much more durable than the easily scratched screens of the aluminum models. This is really the main difference but it's not obvious from Apples naming

Yes, hands down. Stainless steel is stronger, more durable, and can be buffed to get surface abrasions out. I have 2, series 4, and 5 both stainless for the last few years and they are still in excellent condition. Screen holds up very well as it is the sapphire glass, which is also more durable.

I wish the technology underneath was stainless steel as well 😉

I wish they give the same choice for iphone that is more likely to accidentally drop. The watch stays on my wrist and unlikely to drop or even hit anything so far.

Yep. The internals will be dead/outdated long before the case is. it's just bragging rights.

It is called marketing & sales. Everyone needs to make money. You might be better off getting a cheap aluminum & throw it away after a couple of years than spending your money on stainless steel if you want the latest technology.

But the question is - is it worth $200 more?

Seems like the weakest link is the screen glass not the case material.
