The absolute best solution that has worked for me (cleaning walls) is 1 gallon water, small squirt of Dawn dish soap and a quarter cup of vinegar. That solution is near perfect for me and does a great job brightening/cleaning the walls without damaging them. Typically after washing an area with this solution I will go over it with a wet rag to rinse with water. However, if you go light enough on the dish soap and vinegar, you can omit this step.
Home Depot, everyday price (4 pack is cheaper than Walmart):

BTW even if you think your walls are clean, they are typically dusty. It's amazing how your walls pop after a good cleaning. Dust usually builds up a transparent layer over time which slowly makes the walls look dull over time.

Thanks for posting, and sharing previous posts! I happened to have a promotional $5 if switching to visa as default payment, and I thought this might be good with two young kids in a rented apartment. Some insights from previous thread: this products SDS states 10% alcohol, filler and butane as propellent (no scents)-- someone recommended buying 70 percent IPA (isopropyl alcohol) and placing into spray bottle as alternative; won't work on crayons; zep is a legit company; not a terribly low price as compared to everyday price at home improvement stores, but good for filling out s&s (subscribe and save) order if you want to try it out.

This stuff has the properties of Iso-Propyl Alcohol, Ammonia and solvent cleaner. It does not seem to erode latex paint like IPA can. Its very expensive for what it does. But its does its function so well. Its invaluable for cleaning around switches, corners of walls, shoe prints on wall and general grime. The price is worth it if you consider the convenience of using a spray can.

I wanted to give this stuff a go, but Amazon won't ship to my zip, so I checked WalMart and they have a 4-pack for $21.19 + free shipping, so I just ordered that. Seller is Zep, Inc.

EDIT: Home Depot and Lowe's is even cheaper, scroll down!

Do those that use it find that it takes the sheen off of the walls that are painted with a satin or semi gloss?

I work as a supervisor for a cleaning department. Many years ago we used to only stock Zep products and they are top of the line imo. There's a few that compare and maybe one brand that outdoes them in some ways (not available as a public product tho I think).

Since then of course via various budget cuts and belt tightening we've changed products to cheaper versions of everything. When I find a can of leftover Zep products it's like Christmas. I hoard it and only give it out to my full time guys because I know they'll make the most of it.

Definitely worth the extra money imo.

I think it's for walls. I have heard it works well. I use a similar product made by Healthier Home.

is this spray possibly better than a mr clean magic eraser for just random wall scuff marks.
