Flip4 trade in is $900, looks like those who got the free upgrade from the 3 to the 4 are about to get another one.

Can't remember, will Verizon charge activation fee even if we get unlocked version?
If you buy the unlocked version from samsung, no. But if you buy the verizon version through samsung for activation on verizon, then yes.

Just buy the unlocked version and swap the sim and you're good to go.

Well, finally a real deal!!! The state I am shipping my stuff to has a tax-free weekend. I just canceled my orders and replaced them. DO not need day one on this. Got my 3 flip 5 phones for $39, 49, and 49 each. Should have made multiple accounts for the education discount on each account... But since I had so many orders and cancels, it was redeemed too many times.

This is so dang awesome!!!! Just trying to decide to stay with the 12.4 tablet or go to 14. It has been the best mobile OS tablet as I do not include surface as they are full OS.

I'm getting close to ordering and had a couple of questions:

1) I have a Samsung account registered with them associated with a personal email of mine. I realize now that I could get an additional Education discount. I have an alumni email address, but also my daughter works at a public school. Would I need to re-associate my account with the [email protected] email address (or possibly create a brand new account with Samsung) first, or can I still somehow make my purchase through my non-.edu email address and just expect that they're going to ask for the .edu email address somewhere later in the process?

2) I don't have a valuable phone to trade in. Just an iPhone Xs (worth $200 on the trade-in). Do you think I should try to scramble (if there's even enough time at this point) to procure some other phone off of ebay or whatever and, if so, what would be the easiest (and most trouble/problem-free) approach I should take?

Given your situation, I'll say the most hassle free would be just wait and buy one off locally, you can probably score one between $500-600 depending on luck. Right now, Flip 4 is around $450 at ebay, plus tax and using that as trade in, you are giving at least $550 out of pocket already and have to deal with trade in and potential chargeback if trade in fail. This way you can save your iphone X for potential future trade in as well.

If you are going to the long route, just to answer your question.
1. You can use your original account and then towards the end, samsung will ask you to vertify through I.D me for your education account

Do you have a current phone on Verizon with sim card? If so, just swap the sim card to the new phone when you get it. Shouldn't need to have Verizon activate at all. That's what I've done the last few years.

I am seeing the same thing on my old S20 FE. Samsung is only offering me $400 (which is pretty good!) but Verizon is offering me $800. The phone only has a street value of about $200. The only catch is that they pay you in bill credits, spread out over 36 months. But if you are like me, and plan to stay with them anyway, then it's no big deal (I have been with them 20 years)
That isn't the only catch. The catch is that they give you the discount spread out over 36 months as a bill credit as well. So instead of it being, say, $22.23/mo for 36 months adding up to $800, it'll be a charge of $50/mo with a credit for $27.77/mo to equal out to you only paying $22.23/mo. This becomes important when you want to upgrade your phone before 3 years is up; you will only have captured part of the savings because you'll lose all the remaining bill credits by paying your device off in full before trading in.

Verizon gets to play the long con this way because after there are two newer generations of phones out, you're definitely going to be noticing that your phone has fallen behind in performance. Support is slower, apps aren't optimized for your phone any more, and things lag and drag. And that's if you don't break it or lose it first. The much better way to go for most people is to play the yearly trade in game where you wait for the best deal from Samsung or Best Buy and pay $200-400 a year to always be using the newest fastest phone.

The Verizon deal is good for people like my husband who hate change and don't often use their phones. He traded in a Note 10 for a 23 Ultra and got $800 for it. His phone barely worked with Android Auto any more by the time he caved. He is definitely keeping it for 3 years.

Is anyone having issues getting their free memory upgrade on the S9 Tablet with your bundle? My invoice shows 256gb and it's advertised free memory upgrade all over their website and facebook! I opened a ticket through their live chat and was told they can't modify my order and it has shipped already. Just wondering if I can remedy this after receiving my bundle.

Ok, but why would one prefer to get the trade-in value over time in monthly bill credit installments, probably over 24 months, instead of instantly?
And IF one leaves T-Mo early before the 24 months, he'll be liable for the remaining trade-in value?
And pay the sales tax on the pre-credit price at time of purchase???
With the instant credit, tax is only on the after trade-in price in almost all states except CA and maybe a couple more.
One can get the phone unlocked to be used with any carrier, instead of getting a carrier locked phone and then wait for the unlock.
It doesn't make much sense.
Is it because of better trade-in values for some phones?
But theFlip4 traded-in has about the same value $1000, but with tax on that vs. $900 and tax only on about $49.

What's your Samsung order status. I'm guessing those who are still in "pre-order" are being updated to $0 and those orders that are "in progress" or shipped have correct cash back showing
Cashback finally updated. Now says $0.00 "Samsung did not provide CB for this purchase". I believe this happened to me last time and all I had to do was send a message about it with my email contents of the Order Confirmation. I've just done that so I'll wait and see what the response is. I believe this issue is most likely what you've pointed out about the pre-order status.

EDIT:
I went back and checked my emails from my last order with Samsung and they did the same thing, but actually did not verify my purchase as being eligible. I ended up having an email chain lasting 3 months that resulted in a "courtesy credit" of the 12%, that somehow got reduced to 1% by Samsung interfering again, but then reinstated back to 12% after another few emails. lol...

If you are willing to put in some time it can be a decent deal to purchase a used phone. I purchased a used S22 Ultra for $500 on Amazon Renewed by a 3rd party seller with good reviews. The first time it came in the IMEI number came in as stolen so I messaged the seller, and now he's sending me a replacement after returning the old one. It's a slight hassle but in the end I'm still saving around $500 so it's worth it in my book.
