Usually nothing for existing customers.

Cancel your service now, sign up for this deal under a different name (someone else that lives with you)

That's how I've gotten yearly deals

On Gigabit tier $70 a month with Autopay from checking. Everytime my offer runs out, something or other works out with Xfinity. If one CS doesn't help, disconnect and call again. Doing this since 10+ years. I have Verizon available in my area as well which is tad cheaper on gigabit tier, but I keep Xfinity.

Xfinity pricing is always based on the fact how much people can spend in their service area + how many other competitors are there. So lot of YMMV.

Yes, it only means they lock you into that price for 2 years, without risk of increase. You can cancel anytime. If a better deal came along, I could switch to it I presume.

I think you normally have each statement till end of month so you can set last day of service until then and start new order with new account. If you use your own equipment the transition should be seamless otherwise you may have to return old equipment and wait for new one.
I have my own modem. I ask this because I recall they recorded my modem MAC address so I wonder if I need to get new modem.

Thank you

Is it still 5mbps upload because that just sucks.
This will be changing in the near future as the networks get more efficient to support higher upload speeds.

even that's mostly BS though. I've had plenty of those promos in the past and they rate hike in January. And I call and they say:

"You see the only part that's price locked is the base service, the speed increase package is not part of that so the price of that might fluctuate."

So be aware although all signs point to you having the same monthly bill over 2 years, it doesn't play out like that.
No way, that's 100% illegal. If they make you 'sign' a contract to lock you in with the stipulation the price won't change, when the price does the contract is void.

Demand the old price and reimbursement for any increased amount you've been paying while still under contract.

kindly to share your experience

How long the process between cancelling existing service and new service sign up activation? I ask this because I assume when you cancel existing service then you out of internet right away then you need to sign up and wait for activation?

Do you need to get new cable modem or you can use existing modem for new service sign up?

Thank you in advance.
I don't remember exactly if the disconnect is immediate. Just to be on the safe side, plan for the outage

No need to get a new modem.

You have two options
1. Call the retention department, and ask for a new deal. If they refuse to help, try a few more times with different reps

2. If that doesn't work, tell them you want to cancel
3. Once the service has been disconnected, signup for a new service under a new name
4. Power cycle the existing modem, plug your laptop/computer into the modem, activate your new service

this is what I've done in the past

This is what I'm seeing in my area for new deals

and this is what I'm paying for 1200Mbps + 3 mobile lines

When I signed up for this deal end of Dec 2022, I qualified for 3x $100 cash cards for Xfinity mobile because I transferred our numbers to them AND a $500 cash card for signing up for internet

too bad the offer is no longer available

i got 400up/100down for $50 that expires next month. logged in and the offers is for $40 with checking account of $45 for credit, so 5 bucks cheaper without having to call retentions. New accounts are for $30 with checking. my model cannot even handle 400mb down.

This offer doesn't seem to be available in my area (outside Memphis), but I've had T-Mobile Home Internet for several months now with great performance so I'm fine. I'm just so glad to have an alternative to Xfinity that doesn't suck, but I was thinking about going back if this deal was available to me. Thanks. Smilie

can someone explain WHY would someone need 400mbps for everyday use? it's Bisard and insane unless you're downloading heavy files or p0rn on regular bases

I am paying $10/mo for xfinity 75mbps and $10/mo for xfinity 200mbps at another home and its same experience.

You shouldn't have to pay $50/mo to watch netflix 4k or facebook.com LMAO

Rather invest in a GOOD router that will support those speeds thru out the house and multiple devices.

this advice is free and you're welcome!
400 Mbps is 50 MBps of DLing. If you have a large household where the kids are watching streams.. playing games.. You want a larger bandwidth to accommodate everyone without things slowing down. With several adults and kids under one household, we want more than just 200 Mbps, hence at least 400 Mbps.

Does this qualify for the Affordable Connectivity Program the FCC has going on?
People on tribal lands or government benefits (SNAP, EBT,School Lunch, etc) automatically qualify. Affordable Connectivity Program is a Federally funded program (part of the 1.2 Trillion infrastructure bill) that is basically a give me to fat cat telecoms where the taxpayers are the ones helping to reduce the internet costs rather than the free market of tru competition and anti-trust big company breakups.

I just call them whenever my one year pricing expire. We are good with paying $25 for 75Mbps. Somehow, having 15 devices connected still works well with it.

You do not, used my same modem when I called to reactivate 2 minutes after cancelling. I even kept my same IP address when they reconnected.

Heck, I used the same account/login.

If you are already with them. check the speed you are getting. Upgrading to higher plan often does not mean higher speed. It did not happen in our case. YMMV
