Usually nothing for existing customers.

Cancel your service now, sign up for this deal under a different name (someone else that lives with you)

That's how I've gotten yearly deals

On Gigabit tier $70 a month with Autopay from checking. Everytime my offer runs out, something or other works out with Xfinity. If one CS doesn't help, disconnect and call again. Doing this since 10+ years. I have Verizon available in my area as well which is tad cheaper on gigabit tier, but I keep Xfinity.

Xfinity pricing is always based on the fact how much people can spend in their service area + how many other competitors are there. So lot of YMMV.

Yes, it only means they lock you into that price for 2 years, without risk of increase. You can cancel anytime. If a better deal came along, I could switch to it I presume.

they are not budging today.. how do you remove the mac address of your modem from the old account and how fast is the reconnect disconnect? do you just schedule the new person's connect in advance?
They have deals that include equipment . Not sure if this $50 plan does nut the $35 one does

Comcast website these days doesn't even work. For example the payment page is broken 95% of the time. The page to fill your bill is also broken like 80% of the time
This is very true

Not sure if it's been said or not but OH MY GOD they will not match the new price scale if you're an existing customer. You will literally have to call, deal with their 30 minutes of bullshit to cancel, cancel AND THEN call back and sign up. This can all be done in a period of five minutes but that is the only way I could get service at the new price. It even uses all my old account details RIGHT down to assigned IP.

So dumb. I hate Comcast so much (it's all that's available) but at least I'm getting Gigabit for LESS than I was paying for 200mbps prior.
Its possible to cancel online. https://www.reddit.com/r/Comcast/...line_only/ read the part of first say your moving to another address if the link does not work at first

Bay Area, CA as well. That's what I get as an existing customer.

Changing it to a "new customer" will give me $60/month for 1 gig, 24 months, unlimited data + peacock
looks like that price is $70 - $10 checking account discount or $65 with credit card auto payment

last time i try that, they want me to provide actual proof of the move, and want my address, and that they will only cancel if they do not have service at the new address.

Comcast is very difficult to do business with. They mislead Customers on prices and plans. That happened to me, they refuse to do anything about it. Even my Attorney General's Office can't help. Be careful doing business with Comcast.

First you submit some form that you are moving. You use an address not in their service area. You even make one up... but you are not canceling.
Then there is a link in the reddit to cancel, you follow that , it then works - there are details further down in the reddit thread

In the East bay suburb, there is no local competition, hence no deals.
Our 1 Gig $70 deal ended.
Now 800 for $80, despite calls to CS folks.
Google Fiber is only in Oakland & SF.

Also in east bay, signed up for new service and used my existing login during checkout. $60 for the unlimited 1gb plan after autopay. Picked up the modem same day from Dublin store. After activation I'm seeing 900/120, compared to 800/20 before the upgrade. Right now I have two accounts at the same address under my login but the old account is set to cancel by Comcast without my request.

What do you mean without your request? How can you see it is set to cancel? I have two separate logins. One account should be canceled but I cant find any proof of it on the website

Comcast emailed me that they received my cancellation request and that they're "on it". I didn't do anything other than sign up for the new service.

I've had luck in the past calling their number and threatening to switch carriers unless they had a better option. I've had better luck with honey than vinegar as well, just throwing out the phrase "I just don't think I can afford your high prices", even if that's not the case 😄

Select customer, meaning markets where they have competition and need to win back customers that they've lost.

I currently pay $20 for 800 Mbps. It also includes the mobile discount since have Xfinity mobile. In my area, we have 3 different options for internet and Xfinity always gives me the best deal.
More options = more discount

Is there a reason to cancel/sign up during the weekend?
gives you a couple of days to get it going, in case you have an issue canceling and starting new on the same day.

Thanks a million. Signed up as new user and using same login works. I too didn't have to cancel the old account. Immediately after receiving the confirmation of the order for the new account, I received the following email.

We received your cancelation request, and we're on it. Thank you for being an Xfinity customer. While we might not be the right fit for you at this time, know that we're here for you if anything changes. While we process your request, you can view your cancelation details below and check out our Cancelation Guide for even more information. You'll find details about returning your equipment, keeping your On Demand purchases and Xfinity Mobile service, and more.
