Usually nothing for existing customers.

Cancel your service now, sign up for this deal under a different name (someone else that lives with you)

That's how I've gotten yearly deals

On Gigabit tier $70 a month with Autopay from checking. Everytime my offer runs out, something or other works out with Xfinity. If one CS doesn't help, disconnect and call again. Doing this since 10+ years. I have Verizon available in my area as well which is tad cheaper on gigabit tier, but I keep Xfinity.

Xfinity pricing is always based on the fact how much people can spend in their service area + how many other competitors are there. So lot of YMMV.

Yes, it only means they lock you into that price for 2 years, without risk of increase. You can cancel anytime. If a better deal came along, I could switch to it I presume.

I have been put through so much abuse from this company over the last 15 years and their bullshit local Monopoly.

The absolute farking second that AT&T fiber comes to my area I am off forever and I don't care what deal they give me.

Upload speed can be anywhere from 5mbps to 20mbps - depends on where you are.
with their xfi modem, they increase the upload also. I am getting 450/120 right now for the 400mbps service.

On my address in Hayward, it's showing $60 for 1GB w/ Unlimited and Wifi. 24 month term again.

Edit - As a new customer as i currently have AT&T Fiber for $80/Month (With autopay)
can't wait for Sonic fiber to become available in the area. 1/10G symmetrical speed with no cap for $60.

Xfinity needs to get with the times. Wow is offering 1gig for 50/month along with a 200 dollar gift card in my area and a much higher data cap.

Exactly. So it's actually a 10 dollar difference for me. I had signed up for it, got 10 dollars off initially for my own modem, 5 more for auto pay, then found out I don't get unlimited data if I use my own modem. So instead of 55/month i'm paying 65/month and having to use their BS modem. Which already has strangely lost connectivity overnight when my own equipment hasn't ever done such in 3+ years.
I paid for the $10/month for the xfi. When i use my own equipment, Xfinity cannot capture my usage, so on web it will always show 0 gb used/month.

Been Xfinity customer for years and I got $35 for 600 Mbps. Switch to fiber for $60 for a Gig speed and totally love it. Go for fiber internet unless your area does not provide it

400mbps for $50/month is not a deal these days....it should be $40, even that...it supposed to be a normal price.
Yup. As soon as verizon and t-mobile home internet became available in my area, I got 750Mb service from comcast for $50 for two years, with one xfinity mobile line and home internet. I still have a year on that.

For people reacting to "omigod, I didn't get unlimited data because I don't have their equipment", that is explicitly outlined during the plan change checkout process. The page where it asks if you want their equipment or you'll use your own, there's "unlimited data" with a big red X next to it.

To clarify, you signed up as a new user using your current xfinity login and it automatically cancelled your previous contract?
Here's what I did.

Do not log in first.

Enter my address.

Xfinity said there is already service at that address.

Select move here as new service.

Select the plan you want and go through the steps. Make sure you use their provided equipment, there's no charge, to qualify for unlimited data and free Peacock.

When at final checkout page, I think it was the final page, sign in using your current credentials, review pricing, and checkout.

Less than a minute later, an automated email confirming that I just signed up for new service.

Within that minute, another automated email arrives saying I request to cancel the old account.

I signed up on Sunday. Yesterday, I received a shipping confirmation for the equipment and another email that my old service is cancelled as of 7/31. Today, the old service is still working. I am told that even if you canceled by phone, it takes several days to actually disconnect. The equipment arrives tomorrow. The best part is not having to deal with their reps.

Thanks much for the info. my current contract term expires after a week. I am confused what to do, I need to call them to cancel as of last day of the contract and sign after that? I use my own modem. I already paid for running period.
