Thanks much for the info. my current contract term expires after a week. I am confused what to do, I need to call them to cancel as of last day of the contract and sign after that? I use my own modem. I already paid for running period.
Nope, no need to call. Just follow the steps and you're good to go.

I'm in the process of doing this but just can't afford to have any downtime. I wonder if there's an option to cancel end of the month.

Did anyone get to keep Max subscription with the new service? One of the previous deals included HBO Max.

if you get xFi Complete there are no caps, I got it as a promo for 24 months

I think ATT offered free Max, not Xfinity

Its possible things could go wrong. I needed a backup but I moved units to a place with issues. If you are staying put I think if you sign up for the same day like others suggested they probably wont even disconnect the service, only issue may be updating the equipment through their app to your new plan. I guess phantasmx could probably provide better info

Why is that a concern? Order on Thursday and you should receive equipment on Monday. If you want to expedite, go to a store and pick up the equipment. Show the confirmation email and you're good. Like I said, I received the cancellation email three days ago and my service is still up. I have the email confirmation and therefore, Xfinity cannot charge me beyond the date that they confirmed the cancellation. The modem should arrive tomorrow and all I have to do is activate with no downtime, well maybe downtime for a few minutes during activation.

As existing customer, I renewed my internet with previous deal. $25 for 200mbps. (previously paid $40 for 400mbps but was nearly end of 12 mo.)
Use current address and chose I am moving into this address. I used same name, address, mobile number, etc. Existing service stops and New service start. I use my own router. What I had to do was simply log in to xfinity app again, then activate router with new service. I returned some tv box that I never used from previous contract.
I purchased a mobile device from xfinity mobile and swicted to their mobile service. Internet+mobile combo gives $20/mo discount on internet bill (net payment is $5/mo. Plus mobile purchase promo $500 for 24months credit. I guess all the discount together, basically I am getting new S23U for free and I am quite satisfied. Only downside is it is 24mo credit

In the East bay suburb, there is no local competition, hence no deals.
Our 1 Gig $70 deal ended.
Now 800 for $80, despite calls to CS folks.
Google Fiber is only in Oakland & SF.
look into sonic.net if they offer it in your area, Fiber up to 10gbps for $49.99
it is currently under construction in my neighborhood

Was able to get my 400Mbps tier bill down to $45mo with my own router and modem a few months ago, but it took some serious juggling with the website to get Comcast to recognize the rate.

Garbage, and any mention pre-purchase is buried so far they may as well be lying. I believe it's 10Mbps upload. If Sonic is in your area, get their 1Gbps for $50.

Here's what I did.

Do not log in first.

Enter my address.

Xfinity said there is already service at that address.

Select move here as new service.

Select the plan you want and go through the steps. Make sure you use their provided equipment, there's no charge, to qualify for unlimited data and free Peacock.

When at final checkout page, I think it was the final page, sign in using your current credentials, review pricing, and checkout.

Less than a minute later, an automated email confirming that I just signed up for new service.

Within that minute, another automated email arrives saying I request to cancel the old account.

I signed up on Sunday. Yesterday, I received a shipping confirmation for the equipment and another email that my old service is cancelled as of 7/31. Today, the old service is still working. I am told that even if you canceled by phone, it takes several days to actually disconnect. The equipment arrives tomorrow. The best part is not having to deal with their reps.
Were you under a contract promo when the old account was canceled? Did you have to pay any early cancellation fees?

Finally out from under Xfinity after almost 15 years. They didn't care a bit we left. Local fiber optic company came through and installed lines. Get 600 mbps for $65 no increases, no games. Xfinity was charging us $30 for 3mbps (yeah you read that right). And to increase it with our simple package was a huge jump. So glad I'm done with that company.

While their CS still sucks, their service has gotten cheaper. You just have juggle. At least now my price is locked for 2 years, my lease is 14 months - actually got screweed the last two months of my last lease because my move was also 14 mo and it was a 12 mo deal
