Usually nothing for existing customers.

Cancel your service now, sign up for this deal under a different name (someone else that lives with you)

That's how I've gotten yearly deals

On Gigabit tier $70 a month with Autopay from checking. Everytime my offer runs out, something or other works out with Xfinity. If one CS doesn't help, disconnect and call again. Doing this since 10+ years. I have Verizon available in my area as well which is tad cheaper on gigabit tier, but I keep Xfinity.

Xfinity pricing is always based on the fact how much people can spend in their service area + how many other competitors are there. So lot of YMMV.

Yes, it only means they lock you into that price for 2 years, without risk of increase. You can cancel anytime. If a better deal came along, I could switch to it I presume.

The data cap is the worst part about xfinity and their customer service isn't too far behind. It sux when they are the only provider in your area and they know it. I have to pay them an extra $30 a month for unlimited data and my own equipment
Depends on where you are I pay nothing for unlimited and my 1.2gb only cost $80 and the lower tier 200mbps plan only cost $25

CT, DE, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, PA, VA, VT, WV all have unlimited data

Dang. I wonder if it's dependent on the competition in the area. They had a monopoly in northern Utah. Thankfully, fiber just hit my street from another provider and I'm excited to leave them.

It's not crummy if you sign up for new account after 24 months. If Xfinity keeps on doing this, I won't need to buy my modem and router.
yes it is crummy. xfinity got ppl so whipped. I dont know why anyone thinks that having to re sign up as a new account to avoid modem fees is a deal. Its not.

I dont know how people are getting new member deal. im assuming have a partner or disconnecting service momentary. Even with that I dont wanna disconnect my service like that.

I have not problem with ppl making a new account to avoid modem fee. cuz screw comcast. But is it a deal? No.

To each of their own I guess. Modem and router can cause several hundred dollars to upgrade. To some people, as long as they can get online without paying for equipment and unlimited data plus Peacock, they see a deal. Also, you're not disconnecting anything. Switching user is almost instantly these days. In some cases, with minimal downtime.

Thanks OP, this post reminded me that my "discounted" service was set to expire next month. I am on the $60 per month gig plan with my own modem capped at 1.2TB download. I followed the earlier post to place a new order for service but still using my own account Tuesday night. Got an email the next day with the shipping confirmation and got the modem via Fedex an hour ago, swapped the modem and activated. So far so good, now paying the same price for slightly better speed for the next 24 months with unlimited download to boot (have gone over a few times in the last 12 months, Xfinity only comps 1 month. Gotta look in to activating the free Peacock service and Xfinity Mobile discount.

For those saying why would anyone need that kind of speed, clearly you don't have any kids at home, at any given point they (we) are on Netflix, Youtube, TikTok etc etc.

I did look for other alternatives like ATT Fiber and the other company, unfortunately Xfinity is the only one available at my address.

Definitely not a deal... but it's about time for the annual juggle and name switch.

Some of the minor positives; that customers are bragging about were forced by (weak) laws, after they've taken and are still taking advantage of their own so called customers, at large. Think about it. They are an anti competitive monopoly EFFECTIVELY, pretending otherwise and your only recourse is the government CYA? You are so screwed; because it is getting much worst. Who has unlimited with no throttling or even Internet neutrality? No one! That does include you.

What are you going to do about it? Besides roll over and take it like a bee.

I just signed up for the $80 1.2gb after paperless billing and Auto pay discounts.
I had to get a FLEX BOX and activate it.
MA here with Unlimited.

Is there any advantage of getting a Flex box if you already have streaming devices?

So I just did a version of this today so I will report how it went for me.

An active customer that tried to get a deal not to cancel after my 800 Mbps service went from $50 a month to $90. Online actually offered me $78? (saving $12 a month) to upgrade to 1,000 for 12 months no contract and free Peacock Premium so I tried to do that quite a few times but it never worked--their website failed to process it. So I tried via chat (twice) and via Twitter/X support to get it resolved. None of them could offer even what was being shown to me and would only knock off $10 per month.

So I quit via Twitter/X support effective immediately. And it killed the service nearly instantly. So then using a cellphone with internet, I resigned up for the 400 level service for $35 for 24 months no contract.

I did this by saying I was a new user to my address and then later on signing into my existing Xfinity account. As another poster shared, it recognized me and let me even use previously stored payment methods...

Now here is where it gets a bit funny, after rebooting my modem a few times (I had requested that the MAC address be released) I used the Xfinity App to try to activate it.

It could not find it. Now that might be because it wasn't really released yet or some other reason. Thankfully I keep an old cable modem on hand and the app found it and activated it within a few minutes.

Now I have to decide if I want to switch modems later or not.

But that is how I used the same account, name, payment info, etc and was back online with NEW USER pricing within about 30 minutes (could have been 5 if I had started with the other modem).

Zero phone calls have been required so far. We will see how the billing shakes out but it saved me $1,320 over the next 24 months.

Regarding the speed difference. For our usage 400x800x1000 is basically the same. I did enjoy the higher upload speed but it sounds like they are upgrading that to customers as part of a roll out so we will see if I get faster upload speeds as well. Now if you received a faster ping with the more expensive service so it was more punchy, I would be interested.

No fiber locally here sadly.

If you are ordering 1000 or 1200, you might need it to SIGN UP for the "free" Peacock Premium service but once you sign up, you can use any device to access it.

That is how it used to work and it still said something about that today but I ended up getting cheaper service without Peacock so I will return my existing box.

You also might need their flex box to order the discounted rentals and free movies they give away at times. I never end up using those so keeping the box isn't worth it for me.

Thats interesting the 400 is $35, when I first signed up I got 200 for $25 but had to transfer to a new apartment and then the offer went up to 200 for $35 - had to also use "social media" support and they honored the $25 for 200 and even got me free xFi Complete - but I dont share internet with anyone so the 200 should be enough for me , and I came from 75 using my own router which was only connected to my devices at 60
