After doing some research on different models of 150W power source, this is what I found. The one in OP's post(Model # RYi150BG) can act as a power source only to charge the laptop or provide power via USB, but cannot be used as a charger to reverse charge Ryobi battery. Another newer version(Model # RYi150CBT), also more expensive, has one additional feature to reverse charge Ryobi battery with a USB C port.

How does it kill the deal? $15 + $15 shipping is $30 shipped. $30 < $49.99 of original PO deal. 🤔

This previous deal was definitely better but unfortunately we can't time travel so I guess if you need it now, not bad.

Got a great deal on the newer one that charges the battery a few weeks ago at direct tool outlet. I'd wait for another deal like that. I think I paid $60 and it came with a battery. And it was brand new.

If you're fine with 120W vs 150W, these are arguably more flexible for roughly the same amount.
1) Similar 120W inverter with DC, USB-A, AND USB-C https://www.ryobitools.com/produc...6396035370

2) 120W inverter with automotive connections https://www.ryobitools.com/produc...6396035363

That 120W inverter with auto connections works well. Just make sure you push and hold the power button for a few seconds to turn it on (it took me a minute to figure that out and I want to save people time!).

I got this a few years ago and really like it. I've used it during power outages to charge devices and even power my modem and router to still get internet

Can someone explain the pure sine wave converter stuff? I read that pure sine wave (more expensive than modified sine wave) provides clean power and is needed for delicate equipment such as medical equipment, laptops, etc.

So does that mean that if I were to use this inverter on my laptop, it could damage my laptop? Does it damage the battery or the entire hardware? I'm assuming it's not an immediate failure of system if used once in an emergency.

Agreed, I have the automotive one from a previous SD =D
When I read through the instructions I was a little surprised by the power button operation as well. You also have to make sure the battery doesn't disconnect unexpectedly while in use.

Had this model for 18 months works great but just don't try to get anywhere near the 150W for a long period of time.

Example: I have a MacBook Air that uses a 30W charger. This inverter can power the thing from dead, fully charge the battery, while also using it for 3 hours (on a 4AH hour battery). I also have a MacBook Pro with the 100W charger and using that with the inverter causes resets, the fan to run constantly, etc.

It is a great tool for low wattage items, the 150W just doesn't seem to work in the real-world for more than a few minutes.
