It is a good deal compared to the MSRP of $99, but still a bit pricey for what it is. The newer model has a bunch more features and I would hold off on a deal for it if you can wait.

Here is another power source adapter if you only need the USB. It has much nicer features like USB-C Power Delivery up to 100W and can do pass through charging. I like all the details it shows.

This item is $5 cheaper but it doesn't have an AC outlet. What is the advantage of buying this? Seems like I'd rather spend $5 more and get the outlet.

Is this the one to use as a 'charger' with a solar panel?

No it doesn't look like it. I agree this is still too much for what it's worth. More like a 20-25 dollar item. Only reason why I am saying this is because those solar batteries nowadays are so cheap but can hold much more juice and has a wider range of usage than this.

I have this and this is the lowest price without a battery bundle. It comes in handy when you need an AC plug but I'm not getting the full potential out of it. For example, I use the USB ports more and that's a waste of energy. Just but the $20 battery adapter. My only issue with this inverter is that it doesn't turn off after XX minutes without a load. So your battery will drain if you forget to turn it off.

The advantage would be for charging devices that support USB-C PD. This Ryobi version would take 1.5-2 hours to charge an iPhone 16 at 12w (its USB port maximum) from 0-50%. Using the 3rd party one with USB-C PD it would charge at 27w from 0-50% in 30 minutes. The difference is more significant with devices that can handle even higher charge rates like iPad 35w and of course it can actually recharge a laptop 65w-100w as well. There are some other good examples in the Amazon reviews - like it doubling as an extremely fast Ryobi battery charger.

You could of course use AC charge adapters with the Ryobi to achieve the same speeds but you lose about 25% of the battery capacity in converting from DC-AC-DC.

I have both but use the USB-C PD version more often as it is more efficient and I don't have to mess with charging bricks. Just kinda depends what you are looking for.

I bought this for $49 after we were without power from Helene for a few days. A review I read said someone was able to power their CPAP overnight with this and a 4ah battery. Seemed like a (relatively) cheap and easy way to put my Ryobi batteries to use during a power outage.

Got one of these for close to $50 a few years ago and it comes in handy on my camping trips. I have a crap ton of 18v batteries, so this is perfect for small power items. Planned to also use to power my home router in the event of a power failure.

I have this and I was able to power my cpap overnight through both helene and milton, but it took about 8ah worth of batteries. A 4ah doesn't make it through the night. I have a 9ah that will make it 7 hours which is more than I normally sleep at night.

Good to know, thanks! I admittedly didn't do any research and took that one review as fact. I have a couple 6ah batteries - if one can get me 4.5 hours, I'll take it. Especially during a power outage.

I got a factory blem from DT a couple years ago for just under $20 as I recall. I wish I had bought a couple more because I haven't seen that good of a price since.

Yes, it is fantastic to have this instead of a generator humming all night. I have a closed frame inverter generator which is super quiet, but I have to use extension cords and leave it outside and worry about someone stealing it. This thing I place next to my bed and it is pretty quiet too. The ONLY thing I have an issue with the unit is that the green light is brighter than the flashlight on it lol, so I throw a sock over the top of the light, which then causes the unit to get fairly hot and the fan has to kick on. It's still not loud, but I honestly may disassemble mine and remove the LED under the power switch. Seriously it's bright af at night. I love ryobi and during the storms we (family of 5) charged our phones/tablets, used fans flashlights, even powered my power recliners into this unit during the day while also running my wifi router during the outage. I tried to turn on my fridge with this but it wouldn't even try lol. Same with my 5cu ft deep freezer.
