Did anyone else get in on the 4.75% APY no-penalty CD from Ally back in March? I'm assuming I can open a new NP CD with Ally to get 5.0% APY and then directly transfer the money from the 4.75% account to the 5.00% account. Did anyone else do this? Or can it not be directly transferred like that (i.e., first needs to be transferred to your Ally Savings account)?

This 5% 9 month CD is not a No penalty CD. Their NP CDs are currently showing 4.55% APY for me.

Wealthfront gives 4.8% for their cash account. You can have a debt card and withdraw at any time. They boost the apy to 5.3% with a referral. I have both ally and wealthfront and find wealthfront to be much better and easier to use.

The finances/integrity of the bank are sound. It's for very basic everyday checking/savings. The second you have an actual "finance" question, they are very poorly equipped to help with that. For example, they admitted to me they were not trained and clueless on helping with receiving an international wire even though I Had the paperwork and just needed some advice on how to fill it out from Ally's perspective. They weren't even allowed or able to move it "up the chain" because there is no finance knowledge in Ally customer service, they are just CS people who happen to work at a bank. I've used them for at least 10 years and it's an OK bank with decent interest rates.

CFG Bank's money market pays 5.13 apr and there is no early withdrawl penalty. You are limited to a few withdrawals per month at no cost, I think it's 6, but not sure. It's a small regional bank, but FDIC insured just like this bank
