they aren't really comparable. the 48V can cut through way thicker wood, and does it a lot faster

also, nice to see a fellow fatwallet refugee.

Bought this for about $1.50 more in April - good small chainsaw for trimming limbs - wouldn't use it for an entire tree with a medium to large trunk

And the batteries alone are "worth" $75 each. So this deal is a little meh, no extra battery, and only 24v which is gonna be pretty dog like.

You got a better deal.

I have the 60v version of this and it's WAY better than my Stihl. Get several dozen cuts out of it before the 4ah battery dies, then I just have another on standby on the charger. Fantastic saw.

This is great for what it is. I have one I gave to my neighbor (who takes care of stuff that falls in my yard while I'm not there). It's totally fine for cutting up branches up to 2-3" with no problem at all (sure it could do more, but as mentioned in other reviews this is not for cutting down trees or serious tree work). A benefit of this is that it's still fairly lightweight and easy to handle. You don't need the 18" bar and 60-80V system if your needs are similar.

So it's a "right tool for the job" kind-of thing and this is the right tool for many jobs in a typical suburban yard or small not-heavily-forested property.

This is a decent little saw. Everyone (homeowner anyway) should have a chainsaw for shtf times.

I've had to use mine 4 times in the last 2 weeks because storms just keep taking down limbs and whole trees on our property. Another one last night and my little 12 inch saw handled the job well.

I've done as small as a few limbs to a whole tree including stump. Base of the stump was around 22 inches so it was a bit of a PITA but still works just fine.

Just got done with another 30ft tree that fell last night - 14 inch stump.

If you're on the fence, just get it.

How does this compare to a 40v 2ah below?

A bit less power and capacity, but good enough for most people.
