I have one. Use it just 4 or 5 times for doors that were rubbing. Worked easily for that. Cant speak to putting it through difficult tasks though. price was right for what I needed it for, other option was harbor freight cordered. wasn't about to pay over $200 for M18 planer and the m12 planer wasnt out yet, but it is still over 200

I have one and its been great for what I need. Had a wooden gate where the boards were hitting, used this and did a great job. Also used it on an older painted wood board...made the board look brand new. I like that you can change the direction of the dust and chippings too, so you can move your bag to different sides as needed.

I have the 120v version of this, and I've used it extensively in remodels to level floors, sometimes shaving down the subfloor and sometimes cutting down joists after removing subfloors. I've also used it in combination with my benchtop planer for scrubbing old paint/finish off of trim, and it has worked very well in all applications. I hesitated to get the 18v version just because I fear that the runtime will not be very good on a power hungry tool, but if you plan to use a few minutes at a time I think it would be great.

Very easy to operate. This tool has adjustments for depth in fractions of an inch. Good for beginners.

Returning the battery is an option? I didn't think you could do that with these deals.

There is a "free gift" included which is a battery, so you could probably return that for credit.

I have this and it really comes in handy for certain situations where no other tool will work

Nice deal. I picked it up last week for $54, so I'll return and rebuy.

For "returning" the battery, what I do is set store pickup to different stores for the tool and battery. Then when I never pick up the battery it gets returned and refunded automatically.

Not for beginners as this could gouge the wood at the end if you can't control it properly. also the blade can easily get chipped. changing it is easy though.

This thing is great. I wouldn't call it the most precise thing ever, but it gets the job done for shaving off extra material quickly. Then come in with an orbital to smooth things out.

Are you going to start a rare wood cutting board business with it? No, but I'm renovating an old RV with it and it's been a ton of help.

Worth the discounted price.

Beginner question here. Could I use this tool to shave the edge of a door slab so it fits better in the frame?
