The most affordable RTX 4060 laptop so far?
Probably, just keep in mind you really need to order at least an 8GB RAM stick to install. Rubs me the wrong way to see laptops with only 8GB of system RAM but 8GB of VRAM on the graphics card.

is this a good deal or anything better available?
Personally I would only buy this if your budget is limited to the sub 1k range. If so then yeah this is a great deal. Like easily the best deal we have seen on a higher power 4060 (or 4060 at all) and that Ryzen 7 is a beast.
The main things you give up to get to this price point is build quality, screen quality and (usually) thermals. Basically if you have the budget and can hold out for it the Lenovo Legions are just better especially the pro series which in this config (or similar) comes up for sale in the 12-1300 range.
But raw power to cost? This thing is a beast if the thermals are okay. You would need to check reviews for that question.
Just make sure you add ram. I don't think they make 4 gig sticks so this thing is running a single 8 GB stick of ram which is going to make it run a LOT slower even ignoring that 8 GBs on a windows machine in 2023 isn't enough. Upgrading ram is usually easy enough for most home users and no longer voids warranties in the US (was ruled illegal a few years ago by the FTC).
Good to see we should see a lot in the sub $1K range in the next few months so I am in no rush. Returned my X13 so the quest goes on.

What up with just 8 gigs of ram. Everything is 16 these days
Cause Ram is a cheap upgrade, and they at least made it 1 8gig stick which is great cause a 2nd stick of 8g is dirt cheap. Could have really stuck it to people by putting in 2x4 sticks...
What up with the lazy people that can't drop a $20 8gig stick in their laptops....
Every freaking 8gb laptop deal brings out the geniuses
That being said this laptop will be $699 eventually
It's the principle of having a good cpu and gpu combo, and then bottlenecking it with 8gb of ram. You really blame consumers for calling this out? Man, talk about being a corporate shill….
