The better deal is to pay $100 more and get AppleCare+

I bought it last week and had to return it since the mac kept restarting on its own. The return and replacement process is a hassle . Still going through it

I picked up the 16GB/512gb version of this from Costco last year for $1600.

It's been awesome, but sometimes crashes under heavy memory load.

Tempted to buy this for $2600 so for near term stability and longevity.

64GB/2TB feels much more future proof.

Wrong. What kind of truck has a body that tilts or opens at the back for unloading?

Got one for $2499 without Apple Care from the same deal a month ago. I'd suggest pay the additional $100 for the Apple Care. The Apple Care option was not offered at the time of my purchase nor did the customer support was able to add it later.

The machine is a beast. A good balance on mobility and performance.
Why didn't you just call Apple, they can easily add it?

Can they? Like honoring the $100 Apple Care+? Do you think it's too late now?

They won't honor any discounts, but you can still add it at full price. nod

It's better than no coverage.

Doubt this was ever more than $4k but good deal if you're in the market for this
Actually, it probably came to $4100 (that's not even including hundreds more in tax) if you had purchased this when it originally came out.

I bought an open-box (AppleCare eligible) space-grey a couple weeks ago at $2400, and knocked 5 percent off w two Discover cards via Apple Pay, bringing the final cost to $2,280. (No tax in DE.)

The model here with the 3 years AppleCare is an awesome - albeit still expensive for a laptop - deal.

As someone still using a 2012 MacBook Pro - back when you could upgrade RAM and hard drives yourself, it was easier to save money with a base model and figure on upgrading components later if needed (which is what I did). But now, that's no longer an option. For the average joe, a laptop with these specs - M1max/64GB/2TB - will probably last a decade, assuming you'd like to keep it that long.

One caveat: a lot of states have tax-free weekends coming up, so if you're in one of those states, you might want to wait and pray for a deal at that time. Lol or there's always the M3. 🤷🏻 😂

As long as you can pick it up, yup. Tax is based on shipping location.

Using discover card Maximum your can earn in a quarter is $75. How did you get a discount of $120 then?
