West Marine is having a buy one get one free sale for the well rated automatic inflatable life jackets. Really nice low profile option for boating and fishing.

We wear them in rain storms and they don't inflate. There is a bobbin that needs to be fully submerged in order to inflate. I did have one inflate overnight when left in the boat during a horrible rain storm. Boat had several inches of water in it in the morning. This technology has been around for a long time. I've had mine 10+ years. FYI you do have to change the bobbin and CO2 cartridge every 3-5 years.
I'm indifferent on this deal but whatever you do, don't buy blue or green PFDs. They are very difficult to spot in the water.

That's what I thought also and what the title communicates. It should read $109.99, bogo, or 2 for $109.99.

This is a great deal. If you own a boat, canoe or kayak. Don't miss this deal. Always wear your PFD and you barely know you are wearing this one.

Never knew they made auto inflate when you get wet life jackets.. I am not sure how I feel about it. Guess I just picture someone splashing me or even hitting a big wave, then it inflates around my neck and i fall in the water lol

And its not recommended for non or weak swimmers? So the people that need it the most should not use it.. interesting

These require a C02 cartridge? Even in manual mode?

I'm seeing "rearming kits" for $30ish on westmarines site. Is it really $30 every time you need to reload a C02 cartridge?

Every time it's activated you need to replace the bobbin and CO2 cartridge. Also they are supposed to be rearmed every 3-5 years. I'm on the water a lot and often far off shore. The comfort of these is worth the extra cost and maintenance.

How do you "re-arm" one of these when they get wet? Are they a pain to set up for reuse?

My kids and I tend to get really wet when we're on the water (usually just the lake in the summer) so I'm sure we'll accidentally set these things off a lot.

You can change the mode from automatic to manual. So really you should very rarely need to inflate these.

Can these be carried on a plane? Curious with the CO2 canister.

I agree. It's a great deal that you don't see very often. Jump on this now if you ever think you'll need it.
