Know though that these are really, basic survival rations. They're calories and carbs and not a whole lot else. Think sweetened, lemon or cinnamon flavored saw dust. They're designed to keep you alive, not to thrive. If you can afford it (and are able to add a small camp stove (by way of example [amazon.com] ) to your emergency bag), consider freeze dried meals like Mountain House. They're more nutritionally complete and much more palatable.
This emergency preparedness pack likewise looks like some actual thought went into it, especially at this price. I'm particularly impressed by the inclusion of the weatherband radio and the name brand LifeStraw water purifier. The inclusion of feminine hygiene products is another unusually thoughtful touch. Most emergency kits, even those that include personal sanitation items, seem to forget that women may also be displaced by disasters.

I already have a lifestraw, but I also have a better gravity-fed water purification system. I also have a propane generator that can run my electric water distiller. In my case, a survival cupboard is a better alternative, which I mostly have filled already.
Maybe this is for people who live at the coast or in California.

When you are in an emergency situation do you want to be using a knife that will break on you and cut you?
When you are in an emergency situation do you want to be using an emergency blanket that is basically useless?
When you are in an emergency situation do you want to be using a chinese crank power radio that breaks on the 3rd crank?
The life straw is a brand named product so that is good , many reviews on amazon state it is missing i nthe pack they recieved!
When you are in an emergency situation do you want to be eating a cookie bar for 3 days?
Buy yourself a good quality backpack and fill it with quality items that won't let you down in an emergency!
In an emergency situation the last thing you need is for your only item XXXXX to fail because it is a low quality item that came with a premade survival kit!!
I remember Warrior Poet video long before he sold out and went shilly mentioned that many people don't know or will camp out in the forest during a SHTF scenario. You can have a "get home" bag but a bug-out bag doesn't fit a defense scenario unless you have an established safe house and well-thought out plan in place. I personally have a 6 person tent and would car camp than try to carry a single person lean-to tent. Just my take.
