I want this to be good. I bet it has thump, but I bet the sound clarity is not good. I also watched some videos where the port noise in the lower spectrum is very loud.
I mean it's really cheap, probably still worth the price.

Couple of reviews in this thread [avsforum.com]. There are no pics of the port that I could find, but if you're willing to experiment (and void your warranty) you could try replacing the stock port with a flared port to reduce or eliminate the noise.

Apparently there is no (zero) output below 30hz, but that shouldn't matter for most people.

Im curious why you think output below 30hz shouldn't matter to most people. This is where A LOT of rumble in movies/shows come from. Most decent theater subs are pushing reference output at sub 20hz so you can feel things as you should.

Sure it won't matter as much for music, but it's absolutely going to be missed for anyone who likes action/sci-fi.

I have 3 of these (from '21/that discussion) in a ~450sqft theater room as well as a super cheap shaker that i pieced together attached to my side of the 3 seat reclining couch resulting in a user that is beyond happy for the cost/performance (the shaker also arguably makes up for the budget sub not performing in the lower bass levels AND allows me to continue to experience shaking even when loved ones complain about the house shaking when they're trying to sleep which does suggest SOME low bass performance Wink ) Of note, perhaps because I have three of them all turned to about 50%, I do not have any port noise that I'm noticing during music or high impact movies with my subs on low height carpeting with a concrete floor beneath.

I will say however that the electronics aren't great So instead of using the auto on feature, I strongly recommend leaving them on and hooking them up to a Wi-Fi outlet (all 3 of mine are on one wifi outlet with a surge protector feeding them). But for the money if you have the room for these monsters and your budget doesn't support the pro-sumer options buy one+, you won't be disappointed (and TBH if you are unimpressed, they do offer a 30 day money back guarantee just NOTE THE SIZE...)

Ordered! I've been using a crappy Onkyo 10" that bottoms out easily and came with a home theatre in a box. This will be a MASSIVE upgrade over that puny thing. I am hoping that it also puts my other sub, a PSW-505 to shame. I will also be adding polyfill and purchasing the Dayton DSP to fix the 30hz cutoff problem. It seems someone at AVS Forums has sorted it all out!

Almost all entry-level subs are incapable of reproducing much (or any) output below 30hz. Considering that the majority of people are happy with playing music from a Bluetooth speaker (or even worse, directly from a phone speaker), I doubt most of them will miss this very much.

Speaker engineering isn't, but subs are quite a bit simpler. Earl Geddes says just put a big speaker in a big box and you're good to go.
Plugging the port should work fine.
If you want to get fancy, put some stuffing through it, first.

Unless I'm missing something that's the same thing as what I'm doing just with a single point of failure? (It would also need the turn on subwoofer command to provide power to the three outlets the subs are plugged into and if either the networking aspect or the power strip aspect breaks the whole thing needs to be replaced as keeping power to the subs 24/7 with them on auto-on is what I'm attempting to avoid since I've had multiple auto-on functions fail on mono subs but I've yet to have an on failure...)
