The R16 just launched today.
The price is $1750 but after two coupon codes you can get the price down to $1543 + Sales Tax.
Amazon prime credit card and Chase offers 5% off Dell purchases.
(You must add the Chase offer to your account)
Those with AMEX card can use 10% off and the other statement credit.

First you need to signup for 10% dell email unique coupon code here [dell.com],
(it can take 30 mins to receive your UNIQUE coupon code).
Apply your unique coupon code at checkout.
Use code ARMMPPS for an extra $32 off at Dell Checkout.

My price after ~9% sales tax was $1687.
But I am going to get 3% cashback and 5% for using my Amazon Prime Chase card.
My Final price is going to be $1564.
My Cashback and Chase Credit Card offer cancels out my state sales tax.
I called Dell to get a better price, they wouldn't budge.
I can't blame them for a new computer that just launched today.

Alienware finally got rid of their awful cases and they're now 40% smaller. Don't know if these are any better but they look better imo.

I like the old one better. The new design looks vanilla.

Disappointing they stuck with a proprietary MB and PSU. So unnecessary.

Looking forward to seeing someone(GN) put this through the paces, especially with their new sound chamber.

This seems to be right in line with building your own pc. Start with your Microcenter i7 bundle and all other parts. It would come out to $1500.

if i were looking to build or buy, i would buy this hands down. Excellent deal.

Looks like they timed it with LTT review,

No thanks, this thing's not properly priced for its weaknesses.

Except you are stuck with a proprietary PSU and MB. Building your own is not the same as this. At all.

Surprised by how nice LTT was to this. Maybe because Dell gave them a lot of free stuff? Non-standard case, motherboard and PSU kill this in terms of longevity (repairs/upgrades). I would avoid Dell/Alienware unless you're buying their laptops or displays.

I love the Alienwares for stable Photoshop and Lightroom work. They're quick, dependable, and never blue screen. Not everyone needs to upgrade or overclock.

Like this! With a 1000W PSU is the proprietary argument meaningful? Its a lot of juice for the inevitable GPU upgrade....

Would love to jump on this but hate being a beta tester for the newness

R u going to replace the MB or PSU in 6 months, 1yr or 5yrs? it all depends on how long u plan to use it. Plus you get 1yr warranty.

I agree it is not the same as building it. It has +ves and -ves. For my money, it worth the -ves.
