Shipping kills it for just the silver at $9.95, but good deal if you get both (qualifies for free shipping).

Sales tax is state dependent, most states don't charge sales tax on coins/currency.

Buy the platinum coin then both are at spot, with free shipping. I guess reading is hard.

Tax rates by state. https://sdbullion.com/sales-tax

So if you're in CA, for example, you'd be stretching the buck further by making $1500+ purchase amounts.

I typically try to minimize all extraneous costs by avoiding state taxes, qualifying for free shipping, and paying via ACH or official bank check (rather than credit card or cryptocurrency).

Wait, I just noticed that CA may have increased the minimum to $2000. When did that happen?

Update: upon further research it appears CA raised the threshold effective this year. https://news.coinupdate.com/calif...n-changed/

Unable to get for spot price on the Silver Eagle. No discount, even at the "Place Order" screen.

How do you liquidate them at a good price?

You can get a quick quote on their website. Most other dealers make you call in for pricing. https://sdbullion.com/sell

Many individual investors end up joining private groups (ie Facebook, Reddit, etc) to sell/trade.
