That means if you drained the entire battery once a week, it would take about 15 years to reach 80% effective capacity.

.. which is what I'm looking for. I guess stick to lfp
Which proves my point.

It's a bit difficult to search because there WAS a tax credit before this year that was similar (but didn't include portables AND required more KWH I think plus other weird differences). Also this says "rentals do not qualify" but that is saying "A landlord can't install a system in a rental and qualify" not that "people who rent can't buy portable units". That is explicitly stated somewhere else from the government websites.

What I really seem to need is a battery with UPS function and a long cycle life. 3kw seems like a good sweet spot as that's where the battery tax credits start.
BTW 15kw would be ideal and would make my electric bill close to zero. I pay about $1500 per year so a 15kw system would take too long to justify the initial cost for me.

a 3.6kwh lfp battery like the ecoflow max pro + 1600w of solar panels (4 panels) might get you through 6am - 8pm for about $3000 ($2000 after tax credits) and then you recharge at night. The ecoflow handles all the solar input for you.
