Could you provide more details, please? Was thinking of getting this for a small bonus room that never gets comfortable enough in the GA summer.

Single hose means that the AC unit only has one hose (for exit).

This means the AC unit sucks air from your room and shoots it outside...

This does 2 things:

1. It takes your freshly cooled air in the room outside.

2. It sucks air from in the house outside... that means you're pulling air from your house outside, resulting in the house sucking in air from outside through any cracks crevices and etc. Resulting in a higher energy bill.

Dual hose is different. We tend to like dual hose because in a dual hose cofniguration.... the AC units sucks air from outside, runs it through the system, and spits it right back out. No loss of cool/cold air in the room, or the house.

This doesnt mean the room wont cool down though, just means the system runs inefficiently, and can raise your e-bill.

Can you recommend a better deal or unit?

True, would never use a dual hose, other than in an upstairs loft, where the heat builds up, and need to be removed fast.
