Japanese model is selling for ~$260 in Japan so this could be why.

These have no warranty in the US from Nintendo. They'll still fix your Joy-Cons though

In terms of the product, none. I believe even the AC adaptor is the same.

Anyone know the difference between the us and Japanese version besides language of instructions? Also do these still have regular warranties like ones you'd get off other websites?

is Nintendo releasing a new device this year because I rarely see these on sale.

Or is this product not selling well?

Japanese model is selling for ~$260 in Japan so this could be why.

The plug's frame is a smidge smaller, and the prongs have a small plastic piece to reduce their length, but it can be popped off if you need to.

Otherwise, the system works perfectly with US accounts, carts, and content. I had zero issues transferring my data and microSD card over to it.

Wifi hardware specs are the same as the US model but Nintendo has a sw wifi spec which limits channels on the Japanese version.

per a friend, "That's $60 less than a new USA model. The only issue with Japan models is the B button is enter and the A is back when in the OS. Which is opposite of the US."
