santoku good price...the icon 8" chef's is the best deal in this lineup. Fantastic price on that one.

I have Japanese knives for me, Wusthof for the family. Teenagers don't take care of knives and the Wusthof take abuse well

Bummed that the steak knives aren't their usual $99 price tag for these woot sales. Went ahead and picked a couple sets up as my current knives, after a decade of use/sharpening, desperately need to be replaced.

I'm not super familiar with that knife, but it wins big points from me just for not having a bolster. Much easier to sharpen over the long term.

I use a diamond coated steel on the Wusthofs almost daily, works great. This is not a classic steel which straightens the edge, it'll take metal off.
