Been doing some research on escooter options for my son attending college this fall. Ninebot Max gets a lot of recommends on Reddit forums, so leaning towards one of the Ninebot models. If it helps others, here are the main differences between the G30P and G30LP, aside from price.

Deck-to-handlebar height: The handlebar stem on the Ninebot Max G30LP is 2.5 inches shorter than that on the G30P.

Deck Length: The G30P has a deck that is 2.5 inches longer than the G30LP.

Folded Length: The G30LP is more compact and portable than the G30P when folded because it is shorter.

Charger: The Max G30P has a built-in charger in the deck and only requires a cable to charge, whereas the G30LP comes with a typical charger with a bulky brick.

Battery and Range: This is the big one. The G30P has 551Wh lithium-ion batteries that can provide up to 40 miles of mileage, while the G30LP features smaller 367Wh batteries that can last up to 25 miles.

Performance: The Ninebot Max G30P has better acceleration and hill climbing capabilities, while the G30LP is faster overall.

Weight: The G30P with its bigger battery, longer deck, and taller handlebars weighs 4 pounds more than the G30LP.
The escooter market feels like the wild west, impossible to know what's good and bad.
This is an OK scooter but it has a bigger brother version of it that's a bit more money but worth (G30). Then there's the newer model of the bigger brother (G2).

I've abused my G30 for thousands of miles at this point without having to change a tire or break pads, very, very nice machine for the price if you find it on sale for $500-$650.

Segways are reliable machines and what I would advise someone to buy looking for a simple commuter scooter to and from work or school under a 20 mile commute combined.

There are certainly a lot of options, but thankfully plenty of guidance on Reddit forums.

Have had this scooter since 2020, when amazon also had it for a little less than this price, so taking into account inflation, this is a good price. The scooter itself has been trouble free and been in use by my teen kid and we live in a hilly area, with some pretty steep hills, so if anyone wonders if this can handle hills, yes it can.

For a college student living on campus, the G30LP should be perfectly adequate

I owned the G30P for a little over 3 years. The thing is built like a tank, but it also handles like one. If you are going over smooth streets, get this one or its big brother. I however, found it a little unforgiving on battered and bruised NYC streets.

The Ninebot Max family of scooters are some of the most recommended. This is the cheaper version of one of the most popular models. It just has a bit lower range and a few other things like lower handlebars.

Yes. The app setting allows you to make adjustments from zero speed to 2mph

I bought 2 of these last week for $600 each. They're already unboxed and used. Any tricks to get Amazon to do a retroactive price match or am I SOL?
