The insides of these are so minimalistic, it might not be an issue that it is a refurb. They are probably easy to fix. There is a lot of empty space and just a few parts.
On the other hand, as far as I know, LG is not a well-established brand for laptops, so they might not have the best engineering.
LG is quite well known for its Gram laptops. They are the leaders in the ultralight segment and have been making the Gram series laptops for a long time. I have owned three different generations of Gram laptops (15 and 17) and have been quite happy with them. I just wish they would put the latest AMD chips in them, but not holding my breath.

not exactly. they use a lot of glue for putting the screens and etc. together so unless you know what you're doing and have the right glue, it can be a pain
I'm posting this on a lg gram! works great for me and when my lg gram dies; I'll probably replace it with another lg gram. under 3lbs laptop is really worth the extra unless you are not very mobile with it.

LG has been making laptops for a lot longer than most people realize. They just didn't sell them in the USA.
Even the gram line itself has been around longer than LG laptops being sold stateside.

Due to wanting to play BG3, my gram has now become a backup/travel laptop. That being said, I was an XPS fan for a long time but moving to the gram made me wonder why I hadn't switched sooner. Sub 3 lbs with a great 17" screen make these perfect productivity laptops

For $50 more, you can get a new one, but it has only 16GB Ram, and the Ram cannot be updated: https://slickdeals.net/f/16833050-lg-gram-2560x1600-laptops-17-i5-1340p-899-16-i5-1240p-2-in-1-touch-799-free-shipping?src=Si
