The handle is also the wand, which I don't love as it is held in with a plastic clip. Seems like a big weak point. If that breaks the vacuum will be pretty useless.
But for 70 bucks it's hard to beat. Has good suction.

Just got rid of an old Dyson that I got on SD some years ago with the same problem with the handle being the wand. Too much of a pain to use. Not easy to use on stairs.
