What's the APY on mertill on uninvested funds? Fidelity brokerage has 4.99% APY in money market , does Merrill has the same?

It's not wise to stay uninvested for 4.99% apy for two reasons . Market is expecting aggressive rate cuts which means you probably have higher returns in medium and small cap funds . And also the apy will continue to fall as rates fall .
This is not an investment advice. Every investment comes with risk .Take appropriate decision that suit your needs !!
I've bofa premium honors and both our IRA are with Merrill.

Yep. They used to be pretty paranoid - blocking card while abroad and sometimes even while traveling within the US. They improved by starting asking confirmations via text messaging and I haven't experienced any such problems in the past decade or so.

Same here I experienced it several times this year out of state and it was fixed after I had to call them twice I received confirmation but still had it happen as I was driving through different states using card. Switched to another card and no issue

There rewards system to credit your statement is "at best" obtuse. Got it done, but nothing like other banks ease to credit your statement. I never use points to pay for anything or gift cards as quite often you don't get the full value.

I've had this card for a few years, and it's really mediocre. The points do not count 1:1 like any other credit card. For example, if you have 100 points, this doesn't mean it's 100 dollars. The dollar value is a fraction of that. Also, you need to redeem travel through their own portal and the prices aren't that great. I suggest to find another card. I know I am.

Completely disagree. The 18-month 0% interest has been a great way to leverage high-interest savings accounts, and redeeming points (reimbursing charges) 1:1 is extremely easy after one click, via their extremely inclusive eligibility for merchants including travel as well as food. If you're a normal human being who eats, you won't run out of earned points to redeem 1:1.

Add to that, bonus rewards for BofA customers with aggregate investment holdings at Merrill (I get 50% more).

Your complaint is another case of user error.

I just received this card, and I have 2 other Bank of america cards and have no problem. I set up auto pay on each one, and they all work great. Maybe because I have a Bank of america checking and saving is what may make the difference. I love the fact that when they see something unusual, they block the card and call you so someone does not hack your card. I also love that you can set up your account to pay bills. I love the zella app also transferring money for no charge.

Does paying my car insurance count as "travel" that I can redeem the bonus points toward?

This used to be my go-to card, with 2.6% cash back. But now you can get 4% cash back with the US Bank smartly card. You just have to invest $100k in an index fund in an investment account. It's now the best option imho.

Don't even think to join BOA. Always give people bad luck and problems. Consumer Report said so. Best bank is credit union👍🏼

BOA sucks as provider of a travel focused credit card here. The anti theft mechanism blocks transactions at whim and the only way to get around is call their fraud prevention line. Typical wait time is 30+ minutes. It's not worth to keep this POS beyond the bonus gathering period.

I agree with this in terms of their paranoid security policies and slow response. Venture X is best for travel by far.
