This is still a very solid emulator, and one of the better vertically oriented ones (the shoulder buttons, though obnoxiously clicky, are comfortable to use with no modding)...at least once you install ArkOS or 351Elec.
With that said, there are definitely better choices in this price range right now. Unless you *need* an analog stick for the game you'll be emulating the most, I would recommend the 35xx (with garlic os) or the Miyoo Mini Plus (with Onion OS) over this device. Basically the same performance (technically the 351 can do *some* dreamcast and probably handles DS and PSP games better than the Miyoo or the 35xx can.... but the experience with Garlic and Onion is FARRRR better (Auto savestates when you short press power and goes into sleep mode.... waking takes you right back into the game you were playing with no delay!)

After installing a custom OS the thing runs great up through PS1. It's a great machine, function-wise. Anbernic really makes high quality machines, especially the controls/buttons/sticks and overall feel. The processors are always pretty old, but they run retro stuff fine as long as you aren't looking for RECENT retro.
That being said, I regret purchasing a "vertical" device. I wish I had purchased one of the devices that is shaped like a Gameboy Advance. Being nostalgic and an old fart, and buying my very first retro machine, I figured I wanted something shaped like an oldschool Gameboy. But ergonomically this was the wrong decision, especially trying to use thumbsticks. and shoulder buttons (which really are as good as they could be on here, but still not great).
Also I would not buy from this seller. You can buy directly from Anbernic. They run sales all the time. This price is not particularly slick, especially for such an older device (got mine quite a while ago).
