If you purchase open box Lenovo you can contact them and have them update the warranty as long as you have your receipt. Had no issues with this when I purchased my last Lenovo.

i do see that but per lenovo's webpage, this puppy is 350-nit, 165hz. i'd probably trust lenovo over what bby's page says.

300 nits. Not good enough
Umm...it says 500 nits on the "Overview" page.

16" WUXGA 165Hz Display
The 240Hz ultra bright 500 nits display features a 16:10 2560 x 1600 resolution that gives you more space for toolbars and tabs.

Would it better to purchase this local in satisfactory condition or drive an hour to get it in excellent condition for $20 more?

I just purchased the omen with the 4050 in excellent open box for $612. It's just too bulky and the and the i5 stutters too much.

Probably depends on how the "Satisfactory" one looks. I've seen "Satisfactory" look like "Mint" sometimes but also "How Was This Still Covered By The Return Policy" other times.

Hi I am new to this, does this open box also have same kind of warranty just like new one or not? Can someone clarify this?

Best buy states that it comes with warranty but YMMV.

Some warranties start the moment someone registered it.

So for example, Customer X buys laptop, registers it for the warranty (in this case 1 Year) and then decides to return it.
Laptop proceeds to sit on shelf for 6 months until Customer Y buys it. Customer Y only finds it has 6months warranty left.

AFAIK that's how some work. Someone please correct me if I'm mistaken.

100w for the gpu. Is that average for the 3060? I want to say I saw they could do 120w but I could be confusing that.

I just picked up my open box. It was in mint condition minus the original manufacture box. Unfortunately there is only 5 months remaining on the factory warranty, however it gives me the option to extend it up to 48 months at a good price. It must have just been sitting for months because the battery cycle count only says 3.

This laptop is amazing for the price. I was able to inspect it before leaving. It didn't come with the original box, but it is in mint condition. There are only 3 cycles on the battery. Unfortunately, the warranty only has 5 months remaining, but you can extend it up to 48 months cheaply.
