I'd say you're both wrong. A knock-off is more like a copy that is meant to look just like the original but sold cheaper. These are just a similar style of shoe made by an established brand. As for the idea of Hey Dude being a knockoff, that would require Clark's to have had this style of shoe first. Did they? There are several older shoe brands with injection molded clogs now but that doesn't retroactively make Crocs the knockoff.

Yes I sold Clarks 15 years ago and still have multiple pairs of clogs and shoes with heels like this or similar to this. They invented or popularized the moc with the gum sole. Always been leaders in comfortable and cheap sole technology.
