Is this a reposts? Sure.
Is this still an amazing deal? Absolutely.
So if this helps more people get a cheap PS5 controller then I have no problem with it.

I confirmed three stores in my area had some (purchased some). I performed a search for PS5 Controller (and $34) and no results came up.

Yes, the $49 sales have been going on, but those are different.

Unfortunately, the new colors get drift as well...
To avoid drift, you'd probably have to buy the new edge controllers with swappable joysticks.
The joysticks are soldered in so you need a soldering iron and desoldering pump to diy replace them.
Are the black ones also more prone to drift?

Target chat wouldn't price match for me since you have to sign in to Sam's to see the price. Have one for pickup at my local club later today we'll see if it goes through.

I price matched in Best Buy. 8/6/23 in Wellington for 2 White. My cousin attempted to after me on 8/8/23 and they asked him for a Sam's Club card. So, he was unsuccessful even though I didn't have to present my membership. We showed the app price. I followed up on 8/9 and they were more strict: Asked for the ad, asked for the ID, looked up the SKU, and I successfully got 2 Camo models for my cousin. So, long story short, try until you find the right manager. When I got the 2 camo PS5 controllers, I didn't mention price match until they brought it to the registered. Good luck! Also, I have TotalTech, so all four controllers are covered.

Reminds me of the 19.99 first version of PS3 controllers sale on amazon. Bought 4 of those and used them all over the course of the lifespan of the PS3. Then sold them for 2x the price.

I priced matched 1 at Target. The guy at the register couldn't see the price because it requires a sign in so he asked if I could pull it up on my phone and he priced matched it with no issue.

Probably a YMMV depending on the employee you get.

My OG white has a subtle drift, but my Cosmic Red one got bad drift after a couple of months. I think this latest batch may be cool, but earlier batches it was hit or miss.

All first party controllers are identical, as far as drift is concerned. They all use the same ALPS potentiometers that are only rated for 2,000,000 cycles. That's about 4 months of playing 2 hours per day, everyday. There are third party controllers that use hall-effect sensors, but all first party controllers use potentiometers because they make so much money from customers having to buy replacement controllers.
