How much would comparable IPS displays cost? These are very good deals though, for a display that won't do much besides gaming

If I look only at RTINGs, it seems both monitors aren't bad. For the money, its not likely u will get miracles "best screen evarrr." However, I don't think u can do better than 150 dollars, even on the used market this is better. I don't think there's much risk with this kind of price and at the least a great backup monitor to which ever one u pick.

In comparing the two screens, it appears the IPS screen has a leg up in most areas. The VA screen while having a lot better dark colors and contrast, is also plagued with the VA Clouding that ruins it. I have owned screens with that and it can be distracting in some scenes, especially still mid-toned movie scenes. On the other hand, I've never been impressed by grayish navy and blacks on IPS. The good thing is that Costco has an excellent return policy, u could buy both and return the other after trialing them.

Oh you're right this is NOt the Vbiiphx , but the KVbmiiprzx

I didn't realize there was a difference. I thought that was a gibberish typo and not an actual model number. My bad!

I was trying to avoid the curve but maybe I could get used to it. Other then that both monitors fit the bill for what I was looking for.

It's nice man. Specially if you have a corner desk. Get 2 of them and you'll be good.

Dang, I bought the non-curved Acer XV271U for $199 last week. Wanted to return and get the $159 one at Costco, but Amazon says "please return in original packaging to a UPS Store" and I already threw my box away. Has anyone had experience returning these larger electronics without packaging. Or if I buy a very similar XZ272U from Costco first and return in that packaging? Would I have any luck?

Yes, ask them on chat help and they'll get you sorted. Half the time they will tell you to keep the item (I buy a ton of shit on Amazon and for whatever reason, they tell me to keep the item if I don't have the packaging) and they refund me. Worth a try - sometimes they will pick it up via a service as well.

I was looking for 2 to put on a mount and use for work purposes (not video or photo editing) but was also questioning the curve. Which of these 2 models are people going with?

If I go with one it would be the acer. It's brighter and I trust acer more then MSI.

The bigger one does not have High Brightness and Contrast with VESA Certified DisplayHDR™400, also does not have the ability to flip or even go verticle like the 27" which I find to be a really cool feature.

Now between the two 27" they both look good but because of the 2 mentioned above reasons I think the Acer might have the slight edge, there is no mention on the MSI of any HDR or ability to make it go verticle on the mount which I would like. The MSI does have a cool RGB light ring on the back for those gamers who care about LED's. Tough call, but I think the Acer is the winner.

Like the user above pointed out, Acer seems like the better deal, also working on spreadsheets or long documents would benefit from the Verticle orientation listed under its features.

Thanks yeah dug into reviews on the 32" acer and it sounds like lots of ghosting smearing etc. I might order the 27" acer since I know Costco will take a return on it without any issue. Just hoping my monitor arm works with it.

Also tempted to spend the extra 40 for what appears to be the same monitor with a few more bells and whistles.
