if you are on a Hard Drive, once you swap to an SSD you will wonder why you did not sooner.

One thing I did do to give an additional tiny performance boost was to move my Windows Swap File to a SSD that isnt my OS drive...

I got this drive at ~$70 a few months ago. It works great for gaming. I can't tell any difference between it and my Samsung 980 Pro in terms of performance.

If you're talking about the 970 EVO Plus, yes, on paper it's a better drive. However, for most people's workloads, you're not going to notice a difference in real-world performance. The notable exception is long sustained writes (for example, if you're copying/rending large video files). Once you exhaust the drive's cache, then that's where the 970's TLC NAND will outperform the 670p's QLC. The Samsung is now $80, so that's up to you to decide if that's worth the extra $15.

In past scenarios, the 670p being at a 52 week low with strong fundamental value, such as having DRAM and being from a reliable brand, would be a very compelling buy. However, with Crucial's recent blow out of Gen 4 P5 Plus 2TB NVME drives at $79, the delta doesnt warrant a buy at the current price level. I would wait for another entry point opportunity on the P5 Plus instead

You mean doing a multi quote? You can also click multi quote on each entry you plan to reply to then on last one click reply....all the quotes will be there and you can type your responses to each one.

Yep, that's what I see with the speed. At some point I will extract the firmware from the EEPROM and look at it but I haven't had time. I want source code. Probably all the Chinese clones use the same reference firmware.

Which firmware version are you referring to? The firmware version listed in my post is the firmware on the 670p version 003C. smartctl displays it in Linux.

Cool, I never knew that. Whenever I wanted to do that, I would do it the hard way. I would click reply, type my comment, copy the source code, click reply on another comment, and paste it there with another comment, and so on.

The 670p firmware 003C (May 2022) is the latest version as of July 2023 according to the Solidgm docs. I purchased my 2Tb last year and it had the 002C firmware so had to update it previously. Did not fix the issue.

The firmware for the enclosure RTL9210 looks like 20.01. , which I think is an older version. So I dont see anything special. I am connected with a USB C - USB C 3.1G2 USBIF certified cable.
