I have both the foam cannon with pressure washer and foam gun. Not really a big fan of the foam gun because it shoots out suds instead of a foam cloud from the foam cannon that covers the car like snow. I used to have a generic foam cannon from Amazon (tools daily). However, now I use an MTM foam cannon and it's $90 vs $20 but the foam is night and day. My setup also includes an sgs28, which is another $90 or you can buy a mosmatic gun for more. Either way, if you want to spend more money, you can have an elite setup but it might be overkill.

Foam gun is definitely more convenient, but you won't get the coverage and consistency of foam to stick onto the car. Also, pressure washer saves more water and if you wash your car frequently it's better to use that.

Conclusion - If you're an average user who doesn't have time or care as much about your car to be in pristine condition, this is perfect for you.

These work great for cleaning A/C outside condenser coils.

Everyone should have a foam cannon if you care about your car and you're doing your own washing/detailing, it's a no brainer.

How much better than just using my gas powered pressure washer (I use the gentle settings and soap setting)?

Long ago when I was younger and into washing my vehicle in the garage (mainly during the winter months), I had considered installing embossed White Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) Wall Panels everywhere (including the ceiling). Crazy times.

I have these in my basement. They have doubled in price sadly as I need more. That and they suck to glue up if you don't want visible fasteners.

Sorry for the random comment.

I have an identical foam gun although with a different brand. It works okay. Starting to have a small leak somewhere. I don't understand why the tip was not built attached. One time it came shooting out almost landed on my car. Gave me a heart attack.

I stopped using the foam cannon, Its just a waste of time. Having to setup the pressure washer, filling up the foam cannon, then foaming the car, and then still using the 2 bucket method. I save like 30mins by just skipping the pressure washer and using the 2 buckets alone.
Yep, hate to pile on to nay-say another deal but the use case for a foam canon just isn't there unless you are a wanna be FB market place detailer and want some cool pics. I'm a hobbyist detailer, I have had a hose and pressure washer based foam cannon. I no longer use either for car stuff.

Any soap you use in this will not actually remove dirt. I mean you can load it with a super harsh non car wash soap and get better results but it still won't clean your car. Water pressure or wash media is what gets dirt off. Pay double this and you can find a basic pressure washer that works well to blast off the dirt.

Love this easy to use. U can soak the car for 3 minutes to the loose dirt, then spray with water. Spay again with soap, then mitt.

Very helpful info. I have a M Mingle foam cannon with Sun Joe pressure washer. It doesn't work very well. If I upgrade to MTM foam cannon, do I need a sgs28 or it will work with Sun Joe?

These are actually good to clean your outdoor AC coils with some dish detergent. They sell similar to this labeled as a coil cleaner and they go for around $100, same basic idea. Just use low pressure for both soap and rinse

This. The hose pressure cannonnis better than nothing to pre soap the car. Pulling out the pressure washer is additional effort that isntnworth it most of the time

Thanks OP. Was looking to buy one.

What is a good soap solution to use with this?
I personally like Superior Products Cherry Foam soap (and their spray wax). It's the same stuff used in a lot of the drive through car washes and works decently.
I have a similar gun to this deal and it works well together. Right now I'm using some Meguires deep crystal wash (which was a deal on here a while back) and it works well too. But I prefer the cherry foam.
