most of these cheap equipment are rebrand of the same item. don't even think about using this outdoor. i have one i use to mount the occasional mirror, picture or tv. these obviously have limited distance and suck compared to the expensive models but i don't want to risk using my expensive dewalt laser to do a simple task and risk breaking it. i can toss this in a toolbag and not care breaking it. i would carry some spare batteries in the bag.
