Why did lose your library from Microsoft? I still have all of mine on Microsoft, including the Animatrix from a code in my HD DVD box set from 2007 (and my Matrix Trilogy discs developed rot and are completely unplayable now but my digital copy still plays fine). I own hundreds of movies from multiple services and have never lost any from rights revocation.

And physical discs can develop rot or be stolen. I lost dozens of HD DVDs and DVDs from the WB/Cinram debacle from 15 years ago. I haven't lost a single digital movie.

I have a substantial physical collection and a modest digital collection. They both have their pros and cons. Neither is definitely better than the other. Physical has better quality but is less convenient. I can't bring my Blu-ray player on a plane but I can watch my digital movies on my tablet.

Comparing a Redbox single-night rental to a digital purchase that you can own the license to view for years does not help your position.

I believe you can also earn points toward free movies with Universal All-Access Rewards program. One movie is eligible for 500 points. You need to connect your MA account first:

You can buy all $5 Bourne films for $25 which is cheaper than it's been in a long time for the full set in 4k.

Thanks OP, good deal.

I'm obviously doing something wrong. It won't let me complete the Universal All Access Rewards signup because I'm not buying anything. But when I buy anything after being logged into Universal, I still can't log in with the same error message:

Same problem after buying She Said via Universal's site, and then Nobody from a linked MA account via Vudu.

Had the same problem last week. It actually created the account but I can't login. I contacted support and they said they would manually set it up on their side

Yep, same. Can't log in, contacted them, they said they'd do it manually, never heard back. After a week I sent a follow up email; still haven't heard back.

Folks...digital purchases do not equal physical discs. Should Amazon or anyone else (like Apple ) lose the digital rights for these titles, you lose too. Not to mention the ridiculous compression used to stream a title. Yes, digital is convenient, but you subject yourselves to the whim of the studio contracts at a severely compressed viewing/sound experience. This is the risk and potential loss you take. Google physical media vs streaming... don't take my word. The good news is, if you own the physical disc, you can play it over and over without risk of contract negotiations.

If you really want to see that movie or title, get a Blu-ray player or even better, a 4K Blu-ray player if you have a 4K TV and rent from Redbox. And if you buy/rent a 4K title... You will push your TV to new heights. Redbox Blu-ray is far cheaper than paying for a digital title and much better quality for your viewing experience. And no, I do not work for Redbox. C'mon... digital title cost is about twice the price of renting from Redbox.
I agree, I lost my library of digital videos on Microsoft store, no refund no email acknowledging the content would no longer be available.
