Also, one of the more recent reviews with a photo show a 14g wire used on the internal connection on the cord.

I picked this up a couple of years ago and wanted to let potential buyers know this reel is built like a tank. Heavy cord and zero issues with the reel body. Much better quality than others I checked out.

It's rated for 15A, which necessitates 12ga for a 100 ft distance.

Is this good for outdoor, cold weather use, like a small electric snowblower?

Did you get the 65 or the 80 ft? Wonder if they both hold up the same.

I got the 65'. I don't remember the 80' being available at the time. Looking at my invoice, it was on sale for $96 (so $88 is a great price for what you get).

I have mine in an unheated garage. Located in NC, but it did fine in 20-30° weather. Obviously want to keep it away from rain though…

I have wanted one of these for years. I am not sure if I can justify the cost at the moment, but looks great!!!

Have you used it in cold weather/winter temps?

12ga wire with a 15Amp plug? Doesn't that effectively make this a 14AWG cord?

When you're over 50' you're supposed to be using a 12 AWG cord to safely provide the full capacity of a 15 A circuit.

With greater cable length the resistance increases and voltage drops. Large wire diameter helps offset voltage drop of long cable.
