Dang, that is a good price! I paid $400 for my THX 789 from Massdrop back when it was first released and felt like it was a killer deal for how much clean power it put out. Can't believe how much these THX amps have come down in price. Never heard the "harshness" or "sterility" that some complain about. At this price I couldn't resist. I pulled the trigger to put it in my living room listening setup.

Can you expand a little on what do you mean living room setup?
I am trying to understand if there is use case for this beyond being an amp between an audio device and a headphone

I fully understand having different setups. I have a bedroom setup, media room setup and a living room setup. All vinyl except the bedroom location. There's different sounds I want and have turntables, specific cartridge mods and headphone types for each. It suits me better to just change the headphones out than setup one entire equipment Relocation in different locations. The difference most usually is the headphones. Easy to just swap out. Anyhow this is simply ridiculous to pass this deal up IF it's needed or wanted. I have the SMSL SP 200 in the bedroom, a Panda Stack with Sony TT in my media room, which is also a hone theater, and front room is a B&O Beogram TT with stereo amp and sub. Each setup suits the particular room for me. I hope you all do your research on this deal. Phenomenal.

Ah, no, this will be connected to a DAC and drive headphones, that's all it can do. I have a lot of headphones so I have a couple of different dedicated listening locations with DAC/amps in my house. I have one at my computer desk (for when I'm working), one in my bedroom (for unwinding before bed), and one in the living room (for private listening while watching movies/gaming). Overkill? Sure. But I enjoy it Smilie
