the price is very good

but I am sceptical about these type of connectors in general. I don't trust them. Maybe I could use them, but only with very low amperage.

does the 53% off code work for other things in the TICONN store? I need some basic heat shrink, and some insulated o-ring terminals

I bought them in a deal a few months ago. Used them for the first time last month, replacing a circulation pump in a hot tub. They worked perfectly, producing a quality splice. Ideal for that type of application, saved me a lot of time and effort.

I wouldn't hesitate to use them again.

What did you heat them up with? I tried few with heat gun as they suggested but the plastic melted while solder was still solid. Maybe I just have a defective batch or something.

Does your heat gun get hot enough? Listed specs state min is 175 for plastic and 280 for the solder.

I found a cigarette lighter worked best for me. The solder melted before the exterior plastic.

I use them on trailer connections and they are still waterproof years later.

Regular heat gun works when using the wrap shield which covers the back so the heat reflects back in, looks like (_o where the o is the end of the heat gun nozzle.

Yea, for these to melt properly using a heat gun; the reflector nozzle is a must.

Also, always wear eye protection with these. One of them exploded while I was heating it up. Felt the hot shrapnel hit my face and arms.

And how much amperage are you going to sending through a 14,16,18,22 or even a 12 really do not understand what you were trying to say here. Started using these fixing a pickups srs wiring and have been using them since for everything repairing connections in ignition switch on a farm tractor, pump for jetted tub to the sprinkler wire on my cesspool all without 1 problem.
I wont be going back to crimp anytime soon love the way you get a solid sealed connection and be weatherproof in 1 easy step using just a heatgun.

Do yourself a favor. NEVER use these where even minimal movement of the wire is expected.

I'd much rather solder and heat shrink than fight with these.

I purchased these a few years ago, im planning a car audio install, but after seeing reviews and YT videos about how little solder actually gets in the connections, im going to solder my connections manually, then use these (primarily as a heat shrink, more than anything else) since i already have a box of #200 count from a few years ago

Why do you need a lot of solder, and how do you plan to get these over an already soldered connection?
