SlickDeals Extension/Permissions

Hello, would appreciate some feedback...

99% of the time I use the Slick Deals app on my cell phone, but tonight I just happened to log in on my pc. When I went to add "Slick Deals Automatic Coupons and Deals", I got a pop up stating:

"Brave does not review extensions for security and safety. Install this extension only if you trust the developer. It can:
Read and change all your data on all websites.
Display Notifications."

(Then the option to add or cancel). I'm fine with displaying notifications, BUT, "read and change ALL you data on ALL websites"??

This is a bit unsettling, to say the least.

Slick Deals moderators, can you elaborate please?

Hi TenseGuitar2345,

Thank you for reaching out. The need for the extension to "read and change ALL data on ALL websites" is typical and necessary for all extensions that perform functions like applying coupon codes or display relevant deals at retail websites. The reason is because the extension needs permission to read the content on the page to perform its features/functionality and write back to the page.

With that said, Slickdeals takes your data privacy very seriously. Slickdeals does not do any sort of storing of any personal or sensitive information. The Slickdeals extension only reads the minimum amount of data necessary to perform it's key functions such as Coupon Auto Apply.
