1) Buy a size larger than you need. You will be pleasantly surprised.
2) Buy a fridge which either has a name brand compressor (example Secop previously known as Danfoss, LG etc) or offers 3 year or more warranty on its compressor.
3) The temperature gauge on all portable refrigerators is inaccurate because the sensor isn't actually in the cavity. Put your own thermometer inside for accurate readings.

I bought the 30qt pro around Amazon prime day, so far it has worked well (including a beach trip right now).
If anyone is interested, I looked for a shoulder strap for this and went with one made for grizzly... It was a little tight fit through the loops and it is to be seen whether that plastic will hold up but so far working ok carrying it while loaded with drinks:

Got on Amazon for around $24 including tax and shipping. Bougerv has their insulated cover with carrying handles but doesn't have a good padded shoulder strap for around $60-75 with discounts. I'd guess the carrying rings on the cover would be better rated for carrying the weight but I'm taking my chances.

Very versatile set-up! On my last trip my CRPRO 21 kept things frozen at 0-5 degrees despite outside temps of 90+ and inside temps well over 100. It runs quietly and doesn't disturb my sleep even when placed just underneath my bed platform. You do need to leave adequate room for intake and venting.
Despite all the frequent " sales" on the BRV site, this $170 price is as cheap as I've been able to find.
I do think it's worth the upgrade to the CRPRO models over the base models. The light is handy as are the tiedown points. Also, it's great that the last settings are stored despite any interruption in power. It doesn't default to some arbitrary setting that requires you to set it up after every power cut.

Is this one any good? I want something to store in my Toyota minivan trunk.

I tried to find the brand of compressor but couldn't find it.
