    I'll throw it out there.. if you are looking for inexpensive, comfortable, highly functional, durable, light even .....just get a Mora and be done. .. and it's not even a knockoff to boot.

    Well, in the amazon product page they claim 440c steel. If they did their hardening properly 440c will perform well for most people. Good thing most of these chinese blades are done mostly automated so once they dial it in well it's very consistent. Reviews are 4.7 out of 5 from 1037 reviews so it looks like people are relatively happy with it.

    Please don't! This thing takes privacy & data violations to a new level. When both Chinese and Russians raise concerns? That tells you something.

    This looks nearly identical to a GANZO fixed blade F803 they sell for about $38 which is a bit to high imho.....

    If it is a rebranded GANZO and they used the same steel Ganzo lists it as 8cr13. Which some people think is inexpensive chinese steel. I personally think it's fairly decent for the price to hardness ratio....

    Looks very similar to the Gerber Gear Ultimate I picked up last year on a slickdeal for about $27 (currently at $47). The Gerber is 7CR17MoV, if I remember correctly(?) Been happy with it.

    Maybe I'll get this as a gift for close friend who tried to run off with my Gerber last time out Wink

    This is a VERY SIMILAR knock off of an early/mid 2000 Gerber survival knife... was around the time tactical bushcraft knives were all the rage with a kydex sheath. ... it was something, Desert if i recall correctly... had to do with military operations in the sandbox during that time period.. all I know is I bought over 100 with damaged/blemished black coatings and sold every single one within a 2wk period and made bank.

    If you want a cheap but good fixed blade knife, I like the Milwaukee tradesmen. $15.97 regular price at Home Depot. No Tacticool vibe though.

    Headed to glacier national Park for a 7 night 70ish mile backpacking solo trip in East glacier next month.

    In addition to bear spray is this a good item of last resort ? I currently have a 3.1 inch statgear ausus knife from a previous Slickdeal. 1 pound seems a bit heavy for my use case.
