The original $599 is definitely a markup, at the $250 mark, it seems ok, not a great deal. This bike has basic components and values at what it is. The Giordano was probably a better deal. There should be more steep discounts with oversupply of bikes and components from the pandemic these days.

I bought and cancelled the $100 bike, I bike to much to buy and use garbageā¦but I may buy one after all to leave at vacay spot as I have none there

How well do aluminum frames/forks hold up to abuse? I have non-chrome forks on my current bike and they're rusty.
This isn't an aluminum fork. This is an alloy metal fork which is stronger than aluminum.
The frame is the typical lightweight aluminum.
"Aluminium is a pure metal, while an alloy is a mixture of metals. Aluminium is lightweight and strong, while an alloy is even stronger. Aluminium is corrosion-resistant, while an alloy is even more resistant. Aluminium is easy to recycle, while an alloy can be more difficult."

I just need a hybrid bike to ride around the neighborhood for paved and gravel roads.
