The icing on the cake is how they still charged us for the entire rental period and they charged us for roadside assistance. Over $1,000 for 10 miles of driving. Plus the tow truck that ended up costing $200 out of pocket (which was a bargain)
All they offered us was a coupon for a free day on our next rental. Nothing else. Plus it was almost impossible to find an agent who would respond by voice.
* Your best bet is to blast them in tweets and they will finally get back to you and offer you, while nothing worth while unless you rent often.
However, charging at public chargers is about the same price as gas when you compare equivalent vehicles, i.e. F-150 Lightning to F-150 ecoboost. You're paying just as much and getting less convenience, and that's not an SD.

A Chevrolet Bolt EUV rented at Burbank Airport is $52 a day. Does that mean that if I rent one for 2 days then I pay $52 to Hertz?
I see that (I think) a Chevrolet Bolt is about $20 less per day at locations near Burbank therefore I would go to one of the other locations but that is irrelevant to the question.
I had it for a weekend. Good luck finding a charger! The nearest one was about 5 miles away from where we were staying. It was at a gasoline station of all places, a "get-go" or something like that. Only one of the four chargers there actually worked. I forget the exact numbers, but I think four minutes later I had racked up four dollars of charging and added 6 miles to my driving range. Seriously.
A year ago I rented a Tesla for the day from Hertz, and I was told no need to recharge. This new policy requiring charging is ridiculous. Depending on where you are staying during your rental you may not even be able to charge it.

Regardless, you did not answer my question. If I must reserve for two days then would the total paid to Hertz be $104 ($52 x 3 - $52)?

How do the plugs work? Will I be able to use a Polestar or Tesla at any charging station I find or is Tesla like Apple where it needs some special connector?
